I am a 70 year old female and have been lifting for 8 years. Best thing I have ever did. I do lift fairly heavy and continue to increase the weight which is safe if done wisely and using good form.

Bands are just as good and don't cause injury, not all of us can lift weight due to issues. Bands will only allow you to go so far and not over do it and end up tearing or over extending and then having to start over again because of injury, Leslie Sansone has the best they are like a row of circles so you only need one not a bunch.

At 70 I build stone walls for a hobby. Stones up to about 50kg. I do need a lie down after a fee hours work though!

Well yes you are old in your late 60's, but doesn't mean you have to be out of shape and weak.
