Chef, if everyone were as "nuts" as you, the world would be a much happier place. Thank you for being you. ❤

I love how he always says to “measure carefully” and then totally eyeballs everything. Makes me laugh every time.

I am French and i would like to let some informative comment for our American friends who passionate themselves for the French cooking: Originally, what is called "French Toast" in English corresponds in fact to what we call in French "Lost Bread". This objective of this desert was to use the stale bread rather than throw it to the bin of give it to farm animals. That's why in the original recipe, we use common stale bread and not fresh brioche or bread. In the original recipe, stale bread is rehumidified in a mixture of milk and eggs, sugar and you can add flavor such as vanilla alcohol and spices. Then cook it as shown in a pan with butter.the version with Brioche is much sweeter as the brioche past itself is already made with eggs, milk and sufar and taste very differently than a bread. The reason why chef Jean Pierre toast its fresh brioche is that it not sufficiently dry and it would desagregate when being humifified by the misxture of eggs and milk or cream.

Chef Jean-Pierre, as soon as I open up one of your videos, I hit the "like" button, before I even watch it. You are a gifted teacher and an incredible chef. I can't wait to try this recipe.

Hello my friend! I know this video is a few months old now, but I wanted to let you know how this worked out for me. My wife likes my cooking (thanks chef!). She had mentioned in passing that she had been craving French toast, and that we should hit up our favorite little breakfast place sometime soon. Yesterday morning (Sunday), I let her sleep in and went for it. All I had for berries were strawberries, but I made a syrup with them and some Myers rum. Fantastic!! I made the French toast pretty much the same as yours, with a side of thick-cut bacon. My wife said this was the best French toast she had ever had. I told her that if you want to make great French toast, you consult a great French chef!! As always, Thank You Chef!!

it has never even occurred to me to sauté fruits, looking at the strawberry's, raspberry's and black berry's sautéing in that butter made my mouth water. I have learnt more about cooking in the last 2 weeks than I have my whole life, hats off to you Chef and thanks.

I have had the pleasure of dining at his restaurant in Fort Lauderdale the Left Bank he cooked many dinners for us at our table with a portable range. This is before he became a TV chef his personality hasn’t changed nor the great food he cooks

I wanted to tell you, Chef, that I am applying your cooking principles to everything I make now. First the ONYO, don’t use water- water is the enemy, add some wine, use lots of butter, all those wonderful things you’ve taught us. And I’m applying all these principles to old favorite recipes like chili for example and these old recipes are coming to life. It’s like eating in a restaurant every night. And of course were using good food / whole food - none of that boxed crap they sell in the grocery store. Thank you for improving my life. Happy healthy 2022 to all!

Also, French toast is a favorite at our house, and it's not just for breakfast. My 13 year old makes EXCELLENT French toast with a warm mixed berry compote and a little bit of marscapone sweetened with a little honey, and a dash of powered sugar. It looks and tastes like a fancy restaurant dish, but truly is so easy a child can do it - because they do! My kiddo makes their French toast exactly as you do and it's every bit as good as you say it is!
