Welcome to @HealthyKidneyInc! This video is for people that have Kidney Disease and have Proteinuria!

Proteinuria is a condition characterized by the presence of excess protein in the urine. When the kidneys are functioning properly, they filter out waste products from the blood and prevent the loss of protein in the urine. However, in people with kidney disease, the filtering process is impaired, leading to proteinuria.

Lowering proteinuria is important in preventing kidney damage and preserving renal function. This video focuses on how to track your proteinuria using test strips, and how diet plays a role into it all.

What we focus on in this video is limiting protein intake and monitoring how that affects your markers on the test strips. A high protein diet can put extra strain on the kidneys and worsen proteinuria. Limiting protein intake can help reduce the amount of protein that needs to be filtered by the kidneys.
