It's funny, a lot of kids don't realize the first day of school is a lot more scary for teachers.

Your classroom looks amazing. I'm in week 5 of my first year of teaching, and my kids humbled me straight away. They didn't care that I'm smart and funny, or that I'd read a ton of pedagogical books. They just wanted to know if I was going to be useful to them or not. We're getting along fine now, but that first week was definitely a little traumatic.

I just finished my first year. Students seemed very angry when I reinforced my rules. It was very tiring. Yes, I was dealing with the school's toughest 8th Grade class since they were kindergarten. I struggled to build relationships with disruptive students. I gave a lot of love and passion. I'm going to try another year but I'm a traumatized quite a bit from my first year.
I learned way more than I taught and I'm grateful for these past 10 months.

You are a true disciple of the profession! If you haven't won any awards or commendations yet, they are surely coming your way. I heard about you from Gary Vee's show.

I might've already commented this but I'm watching this again to try to keep surviving my first year and THE PAPER TIP IS SO ON POINT, we have run out of paper twice or probably more and thank GOD you told me to hide some paper!! Thanks haha

Love love how your classroom is decorated! Very much my style, I want to teach elementary but most teachers have these crazy bright colors and chevron patters and clip art thingys. So not me! But I guess the kids like it, what do you think? I love the hanging books you have up too! Can you do a classroom tour?

I vividly remember my first day of teaching like it was last month!!
My students were really excited and thrilled to have a new teacher(male) and I was so lost!
Definitely a great experience

Future middle school teacher (within the next year or two) here and I absolutely LOVE your videos! I'm really nervous about being creative enough with the content I'll be teaching so the students will be receptive but I know I can do it. Your videos remind me to not be so hard on myself and that teaching will forever be a learning process and a journey. Thank you! New subscriber!

What you are doing here in this channel is incredible my friend. I came here from a video where you talked to Gary. I wish we had these kind of teachers publishing content in this really important field in my country. Keep going on! I also want to create technology and content on learning in near future. My Youtube channel is just a first step for that. Who knows we can even meet one day! See you until then. I hope all the best for you.

Keeping the non-teachers happy makes for a better teaching experience. I appreciate our support staff. Also, my name is on my cellphone because I tend to leave it in the bathroom.
