This is the absolute best come out video ive seen. Im a 22 closeted egyptian, and ive been seeing those kind of videos since forever. They were always sad and over dramatic, leaves me depressed and crowled on myself. But this video was full of fun and twists. Ive had similar experiences to yours but i was smart enough to keep everything private till this day lol, only caught very few times. I use double accounts for everything and that works well. Im planning to finish medical school and go to a country that accepts me the way iam, but its gonna take hella lot of time, maybe even in my 30s, and also i gotta prepare mentally for the people and things im gonna lose. If you can talk about your approach to mentally heal from those in future video that would be amazing. Thanks bee and much much love 😘🥰

Thank you for sharing this story. My husband is from the Middle East and he is still not out to his family. He came to America to go to school as well and that's how we met. Live your best life and find a guy or girl, that treats you with respect and love and holds you number one in their heart.

The "Gay Best Friend." YUP. I grew up in the US, so it isn't illegal, but my family is EXTREMELY religious and abusive. It's shocking how little people care. Always being reduced to, "you know, the gay one." Thanks for sharing your story! It's nice to see you laugh through it ❤

Matin...you're a very brave man. Welcome to Canada, my friend. We need more men like you to make out country even greater. A fan from Canada...

As a Pakistani American, I came out to my parents spring break sophomore year of college. It went horribly..haven’t spoken to them in over 20 years..I can’t believe how homophobic Muslims are..even the ones who are in America like my parents.

My situation wasn't life threatening, but my parents handled it horribly for YEARS. And I love this comment section, you are so sweet and deserve to be protected!

Hey I have a very similar experience as I also left my country (Saudi Arabia) and claimed asylum in the UK (finally got it after two years) during my asylum process I also came out to my family and put them in the same situation (you either accept me or I’m cutting ties) I understand how difficult it’s and you are very brave and I’m very proud that you’re finally able to be your authentic self and building your future while taking care of your mental health. Thank you for making this video and I hope it inspires others to do the same while also being safe. Best of luck to you and I wish you all the best ❤

You said something that I paused to write down: "Nothing feels better than to express yourself freely and to be who you really are." Such beautiful words and phrasing. I came out 45 years ago and have never looked back. I was so so so so SO fortunate to have supportive parents who didn't bat an eye (and they were not religious either). I immediately moved from Atlanta Georgia to San Francisco where it was much easier to be gay when I was 22. 15 years later and two college degrees I moved to Hawaii, got married to a great guy scientist at age 55 - so it gets incredibly better, Matin! My very best to you on your Journey! Aloha!

You have an amazing story that needs to be shared with the Muslim, fundamentalist Christian, fundamentalist Jewish, and any other religious beliefs that condemn or deny us our God-given humanity. Kudos for making yourself a happy man. Be at peace.

Hey I'm a gay Iranian who was born and raised in America. I appreciate you sharing your perspective because culture and religion can translate to even another country. I can't begin to imagine how it would have been growing up with these difficulties with the added extremism and homophobia of Iranian culture. Lots of love <3

Thank you Matin, for your courageous story. I am much older than you are and being American, although we had to stay 'hidden' when I was young, still the culture in USA is nothing like the Middle East. My husband is Canadian and you are so fortunate to have relocated there. We love the Canadians; if only other countries could be as affirming as they are. Loved your testimony!

You are so adorable! I think middle eastern men are so handsome. Coming out is scary enough without worrying about being killed for it. Good for you and the best of luck to you in your freedom!
