Edit: Wait! No, hold up. My mom isn't bi. She was just genuinely surprised that my brother liked girls IN ADDITION TO boys. We'd gotten the vibes that he was gay for a while, so the girls was a surprise to her.
Edit number 2: she's a Catholic woman who works at our church, so it was extra surprising

That was my aunt's reaction to my one cousin coming out. My uncle spit his coffee across the kitchen staring at my aunt, laughed a little and promptly disappeared to his shop.

That's how we found out my aunt and uncle were bi swingers in the 70s...

I have the opposite story! My mom was married to men two times before she discovered she was gay and in love with a woman and she was super shy about it. It was really cute, she thought I might be angry when she tells me but she was the one who raised me to be open minded and supportive so I told her how happy I was that she found someone to love and their gender doesn't matter! Now I have two kids and they know its okay and even normal to love someone of the same gender.
