My Coming Out Story | Eduardo Sanchez-Ubanell

I've been wanting to do a video about my coming out experience for a while now. Coming to terms with being gay out was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I want to share my experience to hopefully help anyone out there who might be going through the same thing.

About Eduardo:
Hi! My eyebrows are big and my dreams are even bigger. I'm constantly trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone and try new things, whether it's health and fitness, cooking, comedy skits, funny reactions, fashion, exploring my Spanish identity, beauty, makeup, sports and more!

"Being in the closet is the worst thing", except when coming out is a worse descession.

"There's a lot of things they don't tell you about gay sex before you do it for the first time." And, apparently, Eduardo won't tell you either.

It's really hard to overstate just how important videos like this are. Just because we are confident & proud in our selves, and have gone through the tough processes, doesn't mean that there aren't a whole new generation of young kids, teens and adults learning to trust and discover themselves. Thank you for sharing!

I will never get tired of hearing about the experience of others while coming out. Even though I am already out, it still seems to offer some comfort that you had many awkward moments also! Great video and thanks for sharing this. Now I will relate the Wii with being gay though... I'm ok with it

One of the best coming out stories I've heard. And I gotta say I enjoy watching and listening to you. Your voice is so soothing and calming to hear. I'm so glad you have a channel. I can't believe I hadn't heard about you much sooner.

My dad grew up in a ranch in Mexico where homosexuality was not accepted. It took my mexican dad a while to fully support me. We watched Love, Simon together. He was come a long way.

Pheww the golden child perfect image story with your parents was literally the same as mine, I wonder how common that is amongst lgbt ppl to overcompensate for the initial “shame” of being lgbt by trying to be “perfect”

I would give anything to have a husband and partner for life like you. You are sincere, honest, and one can tell your speaking from the heart. Love to have you come to Tennessee sometime.

I currently live in Spain... even though I am a Canadian/Polish (it's a confusing mix)....

I am only 15 and I came out a year ago at my Spanish school.. to my whole grade (by accident cuz some I trusted someone who I shouldn't have and EXPOSED ME) and... I haven't been bullied.... like no one gives a shit...

And my crush (who looks similar to you) keeps looking at me and it's just weird...

I've been living in Sitges Spain for 3 years now. Spain has transformed so radically since the end of the Franco regime in 1975. While Sitges is particularly gay I have traveled widely in the country and find people to be very open and accepting (ps we don't have shootings, body shame, or materialism gone mad here). Congrats on your new job and good luck finding housing - SF and LA have become unaffordable (ps you can by a frontline ocean view condo here starting at 300K) - One reason I left Cali was my rent was going up to 4K a month and then when Tramp won it was time to go. Let me know when you visit.

U didnt mention that our "joking" about it mostly involved us singing "Im coming out". Very beautifully i might add 😁😀

I wish my coming out story is as easy as yours. Im a Filipino and my mom is a Born Again Christian. My dad is a Muslim whos by the way is a retired Philippine Army in Mindanao. My mom is his 4th wife coz in muslim culture, male can marry as much as he can. But eventually, they got separated when i was 5. From then i became the father of the family till now. During my childhood days, my mom noticed that im gay and she just accepted it. And she loves me very much. But during my elementary days, i still tried to be straight. But that doesn't help really. I remember that there times that i was bullied physically and verbally. That was a nightmare. Till now im with my mom and im happy. She's the only one who understands me. I really thank God for her.
