Wow...tinkering with mechanical stuff was "looked down upon". Being introverted and spending time alone was "looked down upon". Anakin clearly turned to the dark side for more reasons than just Padme.

Can we talk about how fucked the Jedi's mindset was towards the beginning of the Clone Wars? They'd fallen so far into themselves they were blind to the galaxy around them. Revan was right, the Jedi should of learned to find strength in positive emotions rather than push them away like some taboo. For all their "peace" and "mindfulness" they were perfectly fine fighting a war of politics using essentially a slave army of thirteen year old soldiers.
Also kidnapping small children, and indoctrinating them is also kind of fucked . . .

This is why I like how Luke completely re-formed the Order. He allowed Jedi to marry. He let Younglings discover their own abilities and strong talents. He even encouraged the Jedi to not be entirely involved in politics if it meant hurting them.
