What a treat this is. I'm so thankful for Paul Duncan's book The Star Wars Archives 1999-2005. It has so many interviews and exclusive things with George Lucas that reveals things I never knew about. It's always a fun time reading from this book because you never know what you find in each new page.
I feel it's necessary for us to understand what George Lucas thought of the Sith and Jedi

"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic." Crazy how much came from that one line in the first movie.

And that's why we need George Lucas's input now more than ever! May the force be with you all

I love how Samuel L Jackson wanted purple, and Lucas builds a whole lore around the colour

I've always thought Sith are more aggressive, excessive, emotional and passionate. Which is why Sith ways usually tend to drive a person into obsession, therefore making that person bad due to the lack of empathy and care for others.

An elegant history, for a more civilized series.

I saw the name “Lucas, ” pop up as a YouTube notification with words like “explaining, ” “Jedi, ” and “Sith, ” on my phone, clicked faster than Stalin would of if the nukes actually launched

When George Lucas said, “they aren’t super people.” I wish the makers of the sequels would have read that. They intentionally made Rey an overpowered captain marvel like Mary Sue. George Lucas had Jedi use the force like a tool, and it augmented natural abilities like jumping, running, reflexes, etc. But it wasn’t and was never meant to be a super power. Jedi still had to physically exercise to get physically stronger. They had to train and hone both the force and their physical/mental skills. The sequels made the force a comic book like Superman power and ruined the subtlety that made the force so mysterious and interesting when we all first learned about it. #Makethesequelsnonecanon

As Qui-Gon once said, "there's always a bigger fish"

The Jedi Code:
(copying and pasting from online)
"There is no Emotion, there is Peace.
There is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge.
There is no Passion, there is Serenity.
There is no Chaos, there is Harmony.
There is no Death, there is the Force."

The Sith Code:
(This one I know off by heart and can recite it at will, without searching up the words)
"Peace is a lie, there is only Passion.
Through Passion, I gain Strength.
Through Strength, I gain Power.
Through Power, I gain Victory.
Through Victory, my chains are broken.

The Force shall set me free."

Random thought from a former 1977 Star Wars kid (me): I love that Lucas makes this stuff up and it becomes absolute canon - no matter what Disney does or what fans speculate. George says it - and that's that.

Darth Bane is the OG. We need a live action experience.

Anakin never killed Mace Windu. He cut off his hand. By this logic, even then he was still acting as a Jedi, not a Sith.

You mention “always something bigger” and throw in the cut of Qui Gon😂

I do believe that even if Anakin wasn't discovered when he was, him being an all-star pod racer would have only fueled his ego as his celebrity status grew, which would have only made him all the more malleable to someone like Palpatine. Worse, without the teachings of the Jedi, he would have gone dark much sooner.

Great Vid! I am reading the Rule of 2 Trilogy, and loving it. Only in the first third of the first book, but I have confidence that this trilogy will be excellent. I have owned it for about 10 years, but it was on my to read list, and now I am diving into this part of the old republic history. Thank you for your video, great scenes from the movies/cartoon/ video games etc... to flesh out this lore.

3:50 Not to mention Dooku having Ventress and Savage Opress as assassins as well

Makes sense that the Sith would always lead to their own self destruction
