Granted Vader did have help and probably would have been beaten if not for the 501st, but being able to take on 8 jedi while still recovering from injuries and not fully getting used to the suits restrictions is really a testament to how strong he really is. He probably would have made light work of them once he became accustomed to the suit and recovered from his injuries.
