The avoiding eye contact thing hits hard.. whenever I make new friends that's the first thing they notice😭

Seeing how many people also have to go through these struggles makes me so sad but I do find comfort that I’m not the only person who feels like their brain won’t “shut up” it’s on go 24/7. My safety “blanket” is listening to podcats. It sounds so crazy but hearing them is the only way out of my head. Just wanted to share that. Anyways stay strong my anxious friends❤️✨

Me a 21 year old hugging the blanket I’ve had since the day I was born whilst watching this 👀. I’ve suffered with severe anxiety my whole life so everything listed here happens daily (whether being just one of them or multiples)! In recent years I’ve been improving but I still catch myself doing some of these things (primarily fidgeting, waving my leg without even realising and counting in odds/repeating an action in odds) to alleviate the mental build up and calm myself

As someone who was diagnosed with anxiety, I can say… dang that’s spot on. 😅 Thanks for posting and making people aware of these issues. ❤️

As a diagnosed person with anxiety (social anxiety in my case but still anxiety), this is very true. Even now I have all of those habits.

To the *worthwhile person* seeing this, Don’t allow the past and current pains and hurts stop and define you. You’re more than a conqueror. Rise up and put yourself together. Keep pushing your future depends on it. I wish you all the best in life ❤️.

You should make a video on Catastrophizing anxiety.

I found out that I was dealing with that kind of intrusive thought. It affects me so much because my mind keeps making up unrealistic thoughts that I won't meet my LDR partner, that I might fail Finals, and that people might betray me for no reason

I suffer from severe anxiety, depression, and OCD. This video is good at depicting how it is.

I relate to all of these definitely. I have autism (Asperger's Syndrome in my case) and I remember going over my diagnosis papers a couple years ago that we were given when I was ten and it said on there that I might develop an anxiety disorder or just major anxiety when I get older (I definitely realize nowadays that these habits started to develop much worse during high school and after high school which was the lowest point in my life on top of traumatic experiences in high school and being stuck in a toxic relationship for six years). I'm 25 now, I'm working at my first job where I've been working for over a year now and I'm working on my anxiety even though some days are hard for me. Just like a quote I read a long time ago that I personally connect with, "I'm not where I want to be but I'm glad I'm not where I used to be".

I’ve dealt with sleep issues my entire life and I’m just now getting a grip on it. It’s incredibly stress induced though - the day before an interview or a first day at work, I stay up til 3/4am because I’m so anxious.

It is great that you describe all these things as it unifies people to not feel as lonely in their struggles, but it would be even more helpful if you offered solutions to how to manage this struggles.

I relate so much on the first point. I'm an overthinker, & right now, I am struggling academically (I'm on my senior years). I have so many things to worry about that I fear that I won't be able to graduate senior high. Add to that with the fact that I am a coffee lover too. I think that caffeine adds up to my already super busy brain, not only making me insomniac, but whenever panic comes out of no where, its like I can't breathe.

Thank you Psych2Go <3. And to all overthinkers, I believe that there is so much more to life than the current problems we're facing right now, so hang in there & keep on fighting!

I relate to all of these except the sleeping one. I CAN fall asleep without much issue, just that most of the times I don't want to sleep but in the end, biology wins over my will.
