The way people are now! There's not going to be any bartering. People are going to take what they want. Better worry more about security. Look what's going on in the cities now.

If you know how much ammo you have, you don’t have enough.

I would never trade ammo, it just might come back at you in a bad way.

Coffee would have been a good example for the addiction part!

•Gold is the Money of Kings.
•Silver is the Money of Gentlemen.
•Barter is the Money of Peasants.
•And Debt is the Money of Slaves.

I bought lots of ammo about three years ago. When they said we were running out of it. And here we are. So, I'm Very well stocked with that.

I think that food items, g.u.n.s and ammo is best for bartering. You can’t eat gold and silver or protect your home from invaders with it. Also medicine and first aid items. You can get amazing things at feed stores, such as Amoxacillin, penicillin, ivermectin and fenbendazol. You can get great wound care products that are marketed for animals but work great for humans. And yes! The antibiotics are exactly the same as for humans. My family has used it for years.

gold is a " wealth preserver " .... silver is an " insurance policy " and/or a barter tool

Shtf can come in many forms. What is most desirable depends on the situation really, so best to diversify preps. Another thing to also consider H20... Right now many water filters like straws and such are less expensive than an ounce of silver. They may one day be worth an ounce of gold.

Talking to a couple of Polish drivers just before the turn of the century, I asked them straight out (remember, they were living in a country controlled by communists just a couple of years before) what would be good trade items?
There was no pause at all; Flour, sugar, eggs and coffee.
That was it.
Anything else they needed, they could use those four items to trade for.

Never barter with gold you should always use silver

I wouldn't trade you any of my brass & lead for gold or silver in shtf. That's what I'd call precious metals. Definitely diversify your portfolio!!

letting it known that you have weapons or ammo for barter makes you a much bigger target than if it's known you have beans for barter...

In the highlands of Scotland whiskey is not a great barter good...smile. We will never be short of shine here.

I would leave weapons and ammo out. Why arm the unprepared. They will come after you the next day.

Never trade something that can kill you.

Another thing you have to be prepared for is the merchant having honest scales . As some people are you have to use caution .

Happy to see a vid under 10 mins. Kudos.
Smaller gold and silver coins, when purchased online and in shops have a significantly higher premium over spot price (so I have been told). But as you said, an ozt of gold can get a target stuck to your back.
