This is a life changing experience for anyone who is suffering from trauma. I have done it myself and it was life changing. I have witnessed combat vets dispense with years of pent up trauma and help put PTSD into remission. It can be exilirating and terrifying. I saw one person release pent up childhood traumas from decades ago and within minutes of the breathing session, he was completely at peace and was able to work on himself to a deeper level.

I started doing holotropic breathwork recently and i love it! Ive hard time with meditation controlling my thought/feelings, let go etc. With this breath work i can literally feel my energetic body, at first i used to only feel my hands and feet vibrating, but recently i can feel energy going through my body, its beautiful to discover who we truly are, feel your own energy. Sometimes i can hear a sound too, its been such a beautiful experience so far.

I had a slight trip from just 2 breaths of 15. I saw a light in the dark room that didn't exist. I was meditating prior to the breathing.

Wim Hof is a full inhale, but only a partial exhale.. people keep saying it’s a full in Inhale and a full exhale, it’s just not he’s very clear about that. It’s about 1/3 to a half max exhale. Again he’s very clear about this.

It could be that the woman you saw going inside to a more dramatic state has already done this before or has already done similar things, and so she transfers into that state more easily

Just letting you know and I very well may be wrong but having had DMT hundreds of times and then having later tried holotropic breathing it iis very close almost identical to smoking DMT. I would also invite you to please keep in mind DMT is a very specific kind of trip with a consistent duration and not something that would be commonly mistaken for anything else .

1:10:
Nolotropic breath work is NOT 3 hours of breathing as hard as you can, is NOT hyper ventilation, is Not (just) a room full of people and load music. Do your research and experience it for yourself, because you obviously haven't any (real) experience or understanding of the process...And it's not freaky when you have a rational and or experiential understanding of the process and how calculated all the components are designed to the process.
You should know this. You "did it once" but you did not get it. You do not act as a sitter until you have experience. You are misrepresenting the entire process; and you give talks on breathing???!
Yes, I am a practitioner who has pushed through severe trauma using this process, and it is actually safer and gentler than the psychedelic experience from the use of substances.
It's very different than the "freaky, " unnatural way you are describing it.

There are practitioners certified by Grof R Breathwork which stems from decades of practice and experience of this technique initiated by Stanislav Grof and his wife.

with holotropic breath work is it in through the nose, out through the mouth or in through mouth and out through the mouth?

All my research says you have to breath with your diaphragm. Chest breathing leads to stress on your mind-body-spirit. What do you think?

He admits he doesn't know what happens in the brain. Then proceeds to say that it goes haywire. No. That's not at all what's happening.

Is this breathing through the mouth or nose?

"inhibiting circulation to your brain" doesn't seem like a great idea.

James.. so called "reporter" doing huge disservice to himself and to his audience.
Misrepresenting about what Holotropic Breathwork is and the correct way how the technique supposed to be done!
What he really needs is to attend the actual Holotropic Breathwork workshop with trained professionals who would instruct and guide him through the process.
It's wonderful and one of the kind life changing technique.

I was totally with trying this out until he said they were limiting oxygen to the brain. For 3 hours. That causes brain damage and on top of that I'm pregnant. Absolutely not.
