We live about 10 minutes outside of Chimney Rock in Edneyville, NC. I cannot express how devastating this has been for everyone here. I have friends in town that have lost everything and some who are unaccounted for. We need help, more than we can offer as locals to our neighbors. The National Guard has been airlifting people to the Justice Academy on 64 (Chimney Rock Road) across from our house, it's been incredible to watch. My heart is broken, my job is gone and my friends are missing. I don't know what to do.

Most of the small shops are family owned and I pray they are all safe. These people having the funds to rebuild their lively hoods are what I wish all of my tax dollars would go to instead of more IRS agents.

It is truly heartbreaking to see the devastation and to know that people have lost everything they had. I feel horrible for these people. This is the third "completely destroyed little town" I've seen.. and there are many more. Some had more buildings than others, but all is gone.

Have been to Chimney Rock before. Such a quaint area. This isn’t the first time this area has been hit with flooding. Anytime you have creeks and rivers in a hilly or mountainous area and you get that much rain unfortunately this is what happens. May God bless everyone and provide a swift recovery.
