I’m close to this area. I’m from east Texas, far from home, working here to restore power. We are doing the best we can. I’ve worked a lot of storms in my time, and I can say this is the most vicious storm damage I’ve seen in a decade. For the ppl of NC, we are here for you!!!!

Whoever built that deck there did a hell of a job. Amazed it’s still in one piece more or less. So sad to see this lake all filled in with this debris. I’m sure there are tons of animals and even people in that mess as well. Hope and pray those affected get the help they need and find a way to get through this disaster.

This is just so heartbreaking for me. We, as Floridians, anticipated damage from Helene. No one in the mountains was ever expecting to be hit with such a force of nature! My heart breaks for the loss of life. 🥺🙏🏻 Sending love to everyone.

Oh! I’m sorry for the loss. Praying as the clearing and grieving goes along the path of just getting to the next step.

The scale of the environmental impact on wildlife-fish-birds etc is going to be massive and complex to address. The toxic chemicals, human waste, animal & human decomposition is really beyond what we can imagine.

As a survivor of Hurricane Michael, I will just say get help to these people as quickly as possible and please don’t forget about them as soon as the news cycle moves on. Please check on the most vulnerable. Stay away from power lines, be careful with the chainsaws, and don’t run generators where the fumes can get inside.

My heart goes out to those poor residents. 💔 I can't imagine the pain of experiencing something so horribly beyond control as this. This place and the people who experienced the destruction will be forever changed. It's truly sad.😢

After being in a cat 5 it will get better. It’s going to take a while and you will always remember. But it will get better. I’m so sorry for what has happened to all of you.
