I’m 20 and a student at Arkansas Elite Welding Academy. It’s a great school and I’m loving it so far. It’s very individual focused with plenty of one on one time with instructors.

Hey Austin, really enjoy your channel. I’m 65 years young and just learned to stick weld this year. I focus on art projects and diy racks, shelves, planters, etc. Keep up the good work as a source of information, encouragement and yes entertainment! God bless you and yours.

I just looked up Austin's 5 mind sets. This is absolutely some of the best advice you will ever get. 90 percent or more of the people will try to stand in your way to success. Just because they never had the gumption to step out on a limb. They would love to see you fail just because they did. Several people tried to stop me from going off to auto/diesel school. But I would not trade the experience for any thing. The book, "Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude" was recomended to me my junior year in high school. It perty much is the same as Austin's "5 Mind Sets". There is nothing like having a madeup mind and to know where you are going. TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH IN YOUR SELF AND GO

"Love what your doing and you won't wake up everyday dreading your drive to work." I've sensed that this statement fits You pretty good, Austin! I can just imagine you jumping in your work truck each morning with a big Ear To Ear grin and you thinking, "Oh Boy! I get to go to work Again this morning!" It's a good goal for all of us. So many people really don't like what they do. Myself, I like my job (electrician, wires are in the room so they call us, we fix/replace/adjust/teach about/re design/ha... gut and replace/whatever's needed) and I do look forward to the variety of what I do. Thanks for good vids and being upbeat about a job that fer sure isn't for everyone!

I’m currrently a student at uti and taking the welding course and I can say going never welding a day in my life, it’s a rewarding experience. A bit pricy but the teachers don’t excel in the bookworm portion, they excel in welding. Having a instructor at my hip telling me how to establish a good puddle to form a great bead is such a good confidence booster and experience. As of now we’re working on fluxcore welding and I wasn’t confident in my overhead, but having the teach there to provide different techniques is why they do what they do! Would totally recommend

Hi Austin. Have been working as an electrician for over 15 years. Just love your videos.
You have the best attitude towards life, just because the school has ended your learning of new things shouldn't stop.
This past week for me I learned how an gantry crane works because I had to service one and reverse some of the controls, I love my work because I really don’t know what new potential fun stuff that is ahead.
I also love to work with people with much greater age of my own (35) just because of what I could learn from them with all the experience that they have.
But now with my experience that I have now I have coworkers younger then me that are asking me for advice, and that feels great!
Keep up the great videos!
Greetings from Gothenburg Sweden!

You have to go to school for 2 months every year for three years to get your journeman ticket to be allowed to take your B-pressure test to be allowed to weld on pipe here in Alberta...

Austin I agree with the work ethic. I can't tell you number of folks who have told me they can't get folks to show up on time or at all. As to schooling, from my perspective, they give you the opportunity to put a large number of hours under the hood on a wide variety of rigs you may or may not have seen or used. I am a hobby woodworker and I look at welding as another option on how to join materials to fabricate something. I agree with hood time however, fundamentals are extremely valuable.

As to what interests me most I would say in order laser welding (yes cutting edge), tig/mig.
