Hey guys this was a question I had back when I got into welding and I know tons of others have this same question! I hope this helps you decide on what you want to do to get into welding! But either way keep on welding folks!

School is the best in my opinion. If you go to a job site and they know you dont have that much experince on either pipe or plate, they will start you off at a low hourly rate. Once you get out of school, you will have experience to weld that pipe or plate, and back up what you tell the hiring manager.

Also you can meet other people in school that have connections

Relatively easy way to answer, which has old MASTERS? You will learn more from them, so if job opportunity has 10 year experienced people and college has 35-40 year experienced, go to school, but if job has the 35 year guys, and school has under 20 year experienced guys, go to work, I went to school, 1 of mine was over 45 years, near 70 years old, my other was early 60's and over 30 years experience, so glad I got to be around them. Now they have passed on
