It always frustrates me watching Obi-wan turn down Dooku’s offer. Same with Maul’s offer to Ahsoka. The Jedi had so many chances to save themselves but took none.

Qui-Gon was Dooku's apprentice and we know that Qui-Gon was WAY more grey than the Jedi Order would normally accept... But Qui-Gon was very well respected..

Where do people think that came from if not Dooku himself?

I really do think that if Obi-Wan had died to Maul then Qui-Gon would never have gone with the plans the Jedi had, being generals in the army? Never!

I really think Qui-Gon would have gone to talk to his old master and things would have moved from there.

I doubt that Dooku would have gone down the road of the Sith... I don't fully accept that Dooku was, in fact, fully Sith at all until much later.
If Qui-Gon would have been with him it would have turned out much different.
I really do thing there would have been a third faction. A separatist faction away from the trade federation.

When Count Dooku said to Yoda “I’ve become more powerful than any Jedi, even you” I believe it states that he wanted to be the best there was and he was one of the top duelist. Dooku wanted Obiwan to be on his side so they could rule the galaxy, but it would be from the Darkside. This is reference to Empire Strikes Back when Vader wanted to overthrow Palpatine and wanted Luke to join him.

I really think dooku was gonna betray him bc he tried to tell Obi-Wan that there was a sith in the senate and that's why he said he wished Qui-gon was here because they would have killed the emperor together but the emperor already had cut most of the jedi order from the force that's why they didn't see the sith in papaltine and Yoda even admitted that if the senate find out how clouded they are from the force that there enemies would multiply Qui-gon knew what was coming he had to die for everything to fall into place and also that's why dooku was so surprised when papaltine said do it to anakin to kill dooku he looked at papaltine not in fear but this wasn't the plan

Dooku did seem to have a good balance of light and dark. Luke kind of reminds me of him in Return of the Jedi. He just wasn't an idea man, not to mention he had 2 Jedi on his ass whos specialty was sith lords.
