I remember getting chills the first time I heard Obi Wan say Count Dooku is dead. He was your typical Saturday morning cartoon villain. Makes the evil plans, fights the good guys, and ultimately gets away to fight another day. They’re not supposed to die.

And yet Dooku did, because we’re in Revenge of the Sith now, and it’s all a matter of time before it all goes to hell. The dread was unpalatable.

The best part of this season is the Hitchcock approach to it. Everyone who watches Star Wars knows how the Clone Wars plays out. But what makes S7 stand out the most is that it finally does what the others don't, brings us up to the movies. Season 7 brings us to the start of Revenge of the Sith. The best form of drama is anticipation. We know what happens, we know how it ends but what has people glued to their screens is the anticipation, watching the timer or wick on a bomb get smaller, and smaller, wondering what transpires in the short time frame left.

Anakin has begun his observation of the Chancellor moments after saying goodbye to Obi-Wan. Unbeknownst to either of them, this will be the last time they see each other as friends.

I love that they play Dooku's death seriously here. In the movie, it's like a "Hooray, Dooku's dead!" but here it's like "Fuck, Dooku's dead". They were SO close to discovering Sidious, and Obi-Wan knows that. He's UNNERVED about it.
