This happened to me accidentally:


I slept in 12 am then woke up on 5:48am and I was so energized that i even tried to sleep but couldn't

The thing is: I don't know when I will fall asleep it could take me anywhere from 15min-1h. So I can't count 90min cycles if I don't know when my cycle starts

To make it easy for you:
If you go to bed at 9:40PM then wake up at 6:40AM
If u wake up at 3:30AM go to bed at 7:30PM

So if u wake up at at time that ends in :50 then go to bed at a time that ends in :50 basically. Same goes for any other time. Just make it end in the same minutes

Important info: You can do this from time to time, but in the long run it's not healthy and you won't feel rested even then.

For anyone confused, he didn't meant to literally only sleep for 90 minutes.
He meant something like this:


For example, you sleep at 10:00. You set up two kinds of alarms. The first alarm is 90 minutes before the second alarm.
So your first alarm is at 3:00 and your second is at 4:30.
You wake up at 1st alarm, turn it off and then go back to sleep. Then at the 2nd alarm is when you should actually wake up. This makes a perfect 90 sleep cycle, theoretically making you fully energized without 8 hours of sleep

One time i went to sleep like at 11:30 pm and randomly woke up at 3am feeling so full of energy that i couldnt sleep, and then when i wake up around 7-8am i always feel so dead tired 💀

the problem is being able to actually 'sleep' when you go to bed. I practically go into full sensory deprivation mode to prevent distractions or do other things like put on white noise machines. I just cant sleep the time I want

It’s also a method that stops you from getting the amount of sleep you need and slowly kills you.

I do this, but its important to remember that you still have to get a full night of sleep. I aim for 7.5 hours of sleep (5 cycles) you can do less if you are pressed for time and still feel rested, but you will experience sleep debt in the long term. Naps can be for 1.5 hours, but i find 15min still does wonders. Highly recomend this sleep schedule

I think it depends on our routine cause if we do more physical activities and mental activities we need more sleep but if we don't do anything whole day then we don't need more sleep
