The period key was a game changer for me when I learned it from you. I would just move around with my middle mouse and sometimes I'd be 100% zoomed in and still far from the object. I hit . and boom it's what I needed. The Alt Key is nice, I accidentally learned that one.

The View pie menu trick is great! As I have european keyboard layout, the tilda key is not present as a primary button. But there is an extra key next to left shift which is not used anywhere because it doesnt exist on US keyboards. It's the perfect candidate for View pie menu shortcut :)

Another option with many keyboards is to use the FN key combos. (especially on laptops) The full numpad functionality can be used by the combination of pressing FN key and the designated buttons - there should be secondary labels

May I know if there is way to keep the edit mode 1, 2, 3 keys on the laptop keyboard while using the external numpad keys?
I currently use the numpad with emulate numpad on but lose the functions of edit mode.
