good trick, but really what you wanna do is start as low as you can and keep remeshing as you go, dipping the remeshing value lower and lower as much as you need

What about dynamic subdivision in sculpting settings to reduce it to the sculpted parts of the model. If its about topology you could copy your multires model first and later apply the displacement from the dynamicTopology sculpted mesh.

I just start on super low vertices and slowly work my way up. Only once I’m adding details it gets laggy but that’s basically ok by me lol
