Watching my two babies grow from just 2 inch worms with legs into 13 inch goliath food vacuums was one of the most fun experiences in owning an axolotl. 4 years and going strong.

Despite their ubiquitous captive population, wild axolotls are critically endangered. The amphibians once inhabited the high-altitude lakes around Mexico City, but habitat degradation has limited them to only in a few inland canals in the area.
A 2019 assessment by the International Union for the Conservation of Species found only between 50 and a thousand axolotls are left in the wild—and their populations are dropping.

I really hope these animals never go extinct, they have amazing regenerative abilities that our scientists could learn from.

I've always loved these little guys but I live in Florida, too hot in the house for one of these cuties. I know there are chillers and diy ways to maintain them cool but having a bad hurricane one day can lead to both objects being unavailable for days or weeks. I'll leave them to the pros and enjoy from afar 🥰

A few years ago one of my teachers brought in a neglected axolotl and she let us name it. They went with the name I suggested, creepy buddy Aztec, we nursed it back to health and it still lives in the classroom 3 years later.

Gratitude is the greatest measure of a person's character. A grateful person is a faithful person, does not abandon you, is always with you. You can always trust her. So I'm grateful for the videos posted with a lot of humility and joy, even if my efforts don't give up believing in the best days will come. 🙏🌷 gratitude for reading my message and watching the videos🌷🙏

2:07 Sadly, Axolotl morphing can be painful and can shorten the life of an Axolotl, it can be due to Crowdedness in water, Bad quality water. But on rare occasions it can just happen randomly, so hopfully its that.

This guy is making these cute endangered species survive from extinction. Hope he does this more 😀 (edit: why is there an argument? LOL)

Here’s a tip: don’t feed ur axolotl between 1-2 days ( don’t feed ur axolotl everyday), only feed them 4 times in a week ( feed them on mon wed Fri and Sunday- another tip: keep your axolotl happy, don’t give it any fish in its tank, give it great care and give water changes every week. Make sure not to shake them at ALL. If the water is going ruff the axolotl will not like it. Keep the water temp between 15 and 20 - thanks for reading ! 😀 ( these are true tips)
