This brings back some sad memories… I had a bearded dragon for a year and a half. He had bad adenovirus which harmed his immune system and mostly paralyzed his back legs. He inhaled water and couldn’t properly get it out because of the adeno. He couldn’t even open his mouth after that happened. After he inhaled the water he lasted two more days. I felt so bad he had no weight. He passed before we could get him to a vet… he was the sweetest lizard ever😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I had this similar issue with my betta fish. He had a fungal infection that simply wouldn't stop coming back. Good luck to you and kirby

Looks like his external gill fibres got heavily damaged and reduced by the fungal infection. There's without a doubt a reason to be concerned, because he could sufficate... I hope the best! Good luck, Kirby!
