Trapping Wild Axolotls in ALLIGATOR INFESTED CREEK!

In today's video, I go trapping for wild axolotls in an Alligator INFESTED creek! Deep in the Florida everglades is this crazy spot that holds rare aquarium fish like gouramis, red crawfish, cichlids, and axolotls! So we netted around and placed fish traps to see if we can catch one for my aquarium! While keeping our eye out for the massive alligators that call this creek home, we caught TONS of cichlids, turtles, crawfish, and a baby axolotl that was stuck in a shallow puddle! When we came back to check our fish trap we were shocked at the amount of exotic fish we caught, including a massive axolotl! We brought back all the keepers and put them into my backyard ponds and aquariums as my new pets! What should we name the 2 axolotls?

I never get tired of these lol. I love how his voice shoots up to higher than Helen could achieve for every fish like he’s never done this before. I wish he did the gritty each time too

Axolotls stay like that all there life, they come from Mexico I think in one cave 👍 salamanders end up on land but Axolotls stay aquatic

As a part of the BFP nation for almost 2 ys now, I think it's time for a compilation video of Bobby's 'over' reactions. His reactions always make me laugh and I can always see how much fun he has in making these videos for us! Thanks Bobby for the always great content!

Fun fact: axolotls are only found in a certain lane in Mexico, which means they aren’t axolotls, their actually tiger salamanders in a certain form called the “axolotl form (because it looks similar to an axolotl)”

Hello! I’m from Florida too 😊 just to say axolotls do not turn into a salamander or lizard. Unless they are like unhealthy for example they will loose their gills and become a salamander like creature and they keep their axolotl form, they enjoy hiding in caves so if your gonna make them a good habitat I recommend adding rocks and branches for them to hide under.

Axolotls are a type of salamander. They don't turn into anything. They have tadpole features that never go away. They are just a cool looking salamander.

Hi mate. Hello from Australia 🇦🇺. Just to let you know I breed axolotl and they don't go on land. I have around 20 in my pond biggest being around 14 inches. Axolotls are a type of salamander. Salamanders are amphibians, they usually have gills in the first part of their lives when they live in water, but after undergoing metamorphosis, develop lungs so that they can live on land. However, axolotls don't make this transition, they live in the water all their lives.

They do not morph into anything else, the similarity to the salamander stops there.

Axolotls are closely related to the North American tiger salamander, Ambystoma tigrinum. The tiger salamander begins life as a gilled, aquatic larva. Within a year, the larva metamorphoses, or changes into a land-living adult. It loses its gills, develops lungs, and grows legs. In contrast, the axolotl exhibits neoteny, a condition in which the larvae reproduce without reaching the adult form. Axolotls grow legs and develop rudimentary lungs, but they retain their gills and stay in water. Only certain strains of axolotls transform into terrestrial adults. Some can be caused to change by injecting thyroid hormones into the axolotl. Other strains never metamorphose, instead always reproducing as neotenic salamanders. The North American mudpuppy is similar in its development and reproduction.

I think this is the first time I've seen you without a hat on lol. Also, I just went out and bought a red gourami the other day, so it's funny you got one here lmao.

From my son, “You should be careful with axolotl‘s because they’re really hard to take care of, and they could die easily and also I really like your videos. I am a big fan.”
