SUPPRESSORS That Require No NFA Regulation No Forms No Background Checks No $200 Tax Stamps

The Texas State Senate passed Bill HB 957. The bill would legalize a class of Made In Texas suppressors that must be manufactured and/or sold within the state from from Texas made parts. The silencer must be stamped "Made In Texas" and must remain in the state. It would then be exempt from NFA regulation. That means no forms, background checks, $200 tax stamps or year long waits for government permission.

Every state needs to ram this down the throat of the federal government. The power of the government come from the consent of the governed.

I wish the gov't would leave us alone. They take all our money and want to take all our rights. Just let us be!

If Abbott doesn't sign it, he might as well clean out his office.

Last time I checked, the National Firearms Act still does not repel the Second Amendment. The 10 Amendment makes it clear that neither the Federal, or State governments have the authority to even have an opinion on the matter, as the authority over personal armament is given expressly to the People. Free men do not ask for permission.

Wyoming has had this law in the books for 11 years now. Very old news. The ATF cannot prosecute and if they try to harass a citizen and the citizens calls the Sheriff the ATF agents will and have been arrested so they no longer come around for suppressor enforcement in the state of Wyoming.

Suppressors should’ve never been on the NFA to begin with. Well, the NFA should’ve never been passed as well. The 2ND has no stipulations other than SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED! No age requirement, no permits, no types of guns, no accessories, not anything referencing firearms, period. We’ve given our rights away! We’re not free. We’re free-ER than other countries, but not free.

If Texas passes this, and it becomes legal, it could allow other states a very good argument for passing their own versions of this law.

Suppressors should be stocked on the shelf, right next to ear protection. Sell them in vending machines just like cans of soda (which arguably is far more deadly than any suppressor). You can put a muffler on a car but not on a firearm. Let’s tax stamp every Prius muffler, make new owners wait a year to drive their new car or wait for the transfer on a used one, make it illegal to use their mufflers in other states, etc…and the watch those people

I glad to see another state standing up for our rights but any buddy who builds and sells them in Texas could still face ATF prosecution. Here in Kansas we have the same law and a small business owner who fallowed state law is now sitting in federal prison for production and sale of licensed nfa items.

It's a health issue to protect hearing through suppressors.

Colorado and Washington asserted states rights with weed. Let’s hope Texas can set the benchmark with states rights on suppressors.

Why did I move from the great state of Texas. Hopefully they pave the way for other states to follow suit

Needing a tax stamp for suppressors is stupid anyway. Just another way to make someone rich.
