My wife is such a procrastinator, she would of never had the items switched into her or my kids name so I got a trust and put all of them on it.

I have no NFAs. I live in Texas and handled the estate of my stepson in 2020. There were a number of firearms involved that slipped totally under the radar. Some were second level inheritances. The estate inventory was vague by advise of counsel. The estate had a single beneficiary. I was convenient not to have firearms as an issue.

The fact that I literally just asked about Trusts on the US LawShield video for today and then I see this. Epic timing.

I have never of an NFA trust before. I remember this if I ever get married and have children. Thanks for all your great legal advice.

Thank you for this video! I just started to consider individual vs trust for an NFA item, and I had been leaning towards a trust. This has very likely solidified my decision. Keep up the great content, I look forward to all of the great stuff you are creating/posting on a regular basis!

You can have beneficiaries and responsible party members (Co-trustees) as you said on a trust. I think those are huge benefits. I have all my NFA items on a trust with brothers and nephews listed and grandson as beneficiary.

Love your content in general... but wish there would have been more details about the different meanings between trustees and beneficiaries, and the requirements/processes for each in a post-2016 world.

Thanks for the info. You both make things a little clearer in a very murky world.

I'm so thankful that Sean Cody made my trust many years ago. He was a good man.

Awesome information! I went with a trust early this year. Easy to do. My lawyer handled it for me.
P.S. I’m a USCCA member, are y’all on their network of lawyers and/or can I get y’all to be my go to guys if ever in need? Im in Dallas. Thank y’all for your time.

I have a few Trusts, it's beneficial if you want your family or very close trusted friends to use it.

One thing they didn’t mention is your ability to amend the trust after you take possession of the item, and then add multiple cotrustees. This means an individual trust for each item, but it also means unlimited possessory co-trustees who do not have to get fingerprinted during the transfer stage.

Ok, this is confusing with what Silencer Shop has on their FAQ's: Customer Scenario: You plan on being the only one able to use your silencer and friends or family cannot use your suppressor without you there.

So, the way that reads done as an Individual others could shoot your gun with your suppressor so long as you're there "in possession" of said suppressor.

After what the ATF has done, regarding pistol braces and the weapons they are attached to, now requiring to be registered as Short Barreled Rifles, a trust is something to very much consider if you own enough of said tools, to make it worth it to you.
