Much of this seems like common sense if you've gone through all of the required hoops to get a tax stamp but the comments regarding your cellphone and screenshots was well worth the viewing! Thanks!

The fact that you have to register a metal pipe that most countries view as a safety device is beyond me. And the insane rules you have to follow with short barreled rifles and shotguns are too strict for guns that are just smaller…

Something about taxing a right doesn't seem right...

As we found out recently with the Navy veteran that was wrongly detained, it doesn't matter. He had *all* the documentation required for every NFA item that was seized and they still didn't care. He's not getting any of that back.

When I was an FWC rangemaster in FL I had many people try to show me their NFA paperwork before they pulled out their hardware. I told them I didn't work for ATF. I'd say, "I'm not in a position to determine if you printed this yourself at home or it is authentic NFA paperwork, and I don't really care, either. Just keep your bullets in the berm and control the machine gun, don't let your muzzle climb until you're sending projectiles over the top into the blue yonder. Be safe, be cool, in that order. Have a nice day."

The SCOTUS needs to be striking these laws down left and right!!

with all due respect, the ATF has repeatedly violated rights EVEN WITH proper paperwork. I don't trust them to even have an organization, much less care that I have my legal paperwork

With the advent of E-forms, there is no original tax stamp document, all are copies from the approval email.

It should be added, ONLY an AFT or IRS agent can request to see your tax stamp and it must be provided to them within 48 hours. If law enforcement, any other gov agency, or range fudd asks to see them you DO NOT have to show it to them.

All opinions about the NFA, GCA and ATF aside, I always carry a PHOTOCOPY of my tax stamp with me when "out and about" and keep my original in safe keeping. Nobody needs to lose their original tax stamp on a range day.

I thought "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be MF'n infringed!" covers us the whole "show your papers to prove you're "allowed" to possess a firearm"...

As a general rule, don’t give anyone your phone these days. With things like two factor authentication, your phone is basically a copy of you for authorization of several things. I was at Starbucks and they said their drive through register was broken, could they use their other one? Sure, but I put my phone away and handed them a credit card. My phone stays within my control.

Thank you for emphasizing why not to hand your phone to law enforcement. Or anyone. 👍
I even print out my car insurance cards and carry copies in my cars and wallet.

Tax Stamp is illegal Taxation ..What specific part of the ATF budget does it fund ?

Make a copy (reduced by 50%) front and back, of the Form 1/4 and laminate. Keep it in your gun case when leaving the house. This will eliminate just about ANY challenge to the legal possession.

Thanks for the info. I carry a copy of the tax stamp, but didn't think about needing a copy of the trust documents though.
The tax stamp requirement is still an infringement. Paying the $200 is still cheaper and easier than being right but sitting in jail.

My FFL was nice enough to make me a copy and told me to keep it in the suppressor box with it at all times, thanks for covering this subject.

*You only need to show it to the ATF agent.. at least in my state*

Now that the ATF only issues digital copies of the tax stamps and will not send a physical copy, how does someone do that?

At 5:34 I got a big kick! As a former Class 3 SOTP dealer, how many times have I heard at a gun show, "I got one of those and I did not have to pay that tax." I oft responded with, "The day may come when you that the $200 stamp may become the cheapest lawyer fee you ever paid." My next favorite is the person who said that they may come and take your NFA guns away someday. My reply? "If the ATF finds out that you have a unregistered NFA item, they will come and takes yours away straight away."
