Nanny’s thoughts today range from Moosie’s Homecoming and the medical equipment needed in the cottage….to Aging , Longevity …and Being Prepared for Home Caretaking/….with lots of miscellaneous chatter in between…including a rabbit hole story about a blue Jay that was flying around inside the cottage!

Dearest Nanny, you have such wise things to share, and you are such an inspiration. :) When my mother had a brain aneurysm and 8 hours of surgery, my father kept shouting at the neurosurgeons, 'Bring her back to me, I don't care what state she is in'. He loved her so much.🥰 She was in a vegetative state, and my father, having no support or money, got her walking, eating and functioning again, although she was like a little child and had a short-term memory of 30 seconds. He didn't care. He was with his love. The best part is he had no patience and was a real 'gaddabout' as my mother would say when he was younger!! I guess the adjustment part is the toughest, then it settles down and love takes over.🤩 I can't wait to hear Moosie chirping in the background again at home.

Oh Nanny! I had the same experience having my third baby! I was having difficulty in the labor room and had the same sense of appearance of the Lord over me on the right side giving me comfort. I hardly share this story but your sharing confirm to me it happen!
Love your love of life and positive living!
Give God the glory and give him at least an hour a week of worship on the Lords Day!

My husband for the last year has taken over the housework because I have cancer. I do some things and take care of my self and can walk. You are always encouraging to listen to. I hope the best for you and moosie.

I had my hip replaced last week, a same day surgery. I needed a lot of help when we got home and for several days after to diminishing degrees, even now 8 days later. My career was nursing and I'm not used to being on the other side of caregiving, but my husband has been wonderful and so patient, even waking up several times a night to help me reposition my pillows. Poor guy hasn't had a good night's sleep since I got home! So I appreciate how it will be for you, Mary, when Moose comes home. And I know he will be as appreciative of your efforts as I am of my husband's. I have never seen a more cozy and comforting hospital bed set up as you have made for Moosie! Love is written all over that corner of the room. Amazing that Dubby was an 11 pound baby; she's so petite now! Happy Birthday to her, and Happy Labor Day to you! Phew! No wonder Jesus appeared to you! 😅😇🙏👶

Hi Nanny, I do appreciated you telling the story about Jesus appearing to you and I truly believe you. I’m a Christian and don’t hesitate to think what I’d do without him 🙏 My prayers are with Moose with his illness of his neck injury and you as well. Take care of yourself ! I recently broke my wrist and required surgery. First incident of hospitalization in my life, and it happened about 2 weeks after my 60th birthday. I am so surprised at the toll this has taken. I suddenly feel so old and I’m feeling a noticeable shift from middle aged to senior. That’s how I found your channel, because I started researching aging attitudes. The sudden nature of this really caught me off guard and I’m trying to find my footing. I am raising my 9 year old grandchild who I’ve had from birth. I’m a retired Flight Attendant, and Nursing Home Administrator…I’m a smart woman, but this is new territory! Hopefully I have a long way to go, so I’m trying to find the path. Thanks for being one of the guides.

I like the scrunchy curls. Happy Birthday Dubby. My husband is 74 and has some health issues so I have also made adaptations to our home. Handicapped bathroom, walk in shower with a seat and lots of bars. Some motion sensor lighting, better hand rails, etc. I truly believe you and your moment with Jesus, how wonderful. Jesus is always with us if we look for him. Love your positivity!
