Thanks a lot, I got a new laptop from work and had this problem. Updating the driver under the second header (sound, gamepads etc.) fixed my problem. Appreciate you taking the time to explain this!

Thanks man, you're a lifesaver. Just got this new laptop and the sound was perfect for the first day, but after a few new updates came out for it today the sound went to static and stuttering.

Thanks man! You saved my sanity. This has been happening to me a lot. I learned from another video that disabling my LAN driver will stop the stutter and it did for a few updates. But after the latest update, that didn't work anymore. Then I found your video! I really hate the Windows updates dude lol, makes watching videos and recording audio a pain. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! I was ready to put my 5.1 speakers out on the curb for free (literally)! This saved me a lot of grief! June 2020

No fkn way... I'm pretty good with computers and I was absolutely stumped. The issue seemed to have appeared out of nowhere and immediately thought it was just the new GPU leaking sound like an old motherboard I had before. You fixed it! Thank you so much mate, you've saved me lots of time and troubleshooting. Cheers.

It’s still making that static noise I’ve tried everything. I’ve changed hz sounds, updated/uninstalled driver etc. for some reason when I open up my settings then go to audio the static just stops and when I close out of settings it starts again, it just starts randomly. Please someone help.

What he also needs to add is when it's not driver related if you right-click your speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and then click on Sounds. A small window should open up showing the following tabs from left to right Playback, Recording, Sounds, Communications. Click the Playback tab and choose your speakers that are having the issue (mine was listed as SPDIF Interface) and then the name of the speakers under that. You right click on that device, and then another window shows with 4 more tabs, one of them being "Supported Formats". Uncheck DTS and Dolby because that is what is causing the issues with certain videos being played causing static, popping and whatever else you can describe that god awful noise as sounding like. Hope this comment helps someone out, took me a minute to figure it out, so hopefully it saves someone some time!

bro, i couldnt use FL studio or audacity for like 5 days and i was going crazy, i thought it was my mic giving me feedback, except that wouldnt make sense with FL studio because that would be an internal problem. THEN!!! i found ur video, u literally saved my laptops life cuz i was about to end it. thank u so much Tanna!
