How to setup/install Hyper V in Windows 11?

Welcome back. In this video I will go through the Hyper-V product of Microsoft. I will show you guys how to enable Hyper-V in Windows 11, how to create switches, how to create virtual machines and how to assign/change virtual machines.

When setting up Hyper-V for Windows 11 you have to use Generation 2. The problem is that Generation 2 causes a Start PXE over IPV4 error. To get around this, hold down the shift key when clicking start.

ok if it fails to install the hyper v (it says to me pc ) when restarting after 1 min it says that fail to install hyper v and cancelling the install and it roll back before i click the hyper V.

Hyper already running in win 10 after upgrading to win 11 my hyper v is running, but I am not able to connect my physical laptop to hyper v After seeing this video I am able to do so... Thank you

What are you using to boot the ISO on to the VM? Every time I try to point the installer to the ISO file it fails. Do I really need to use a USB?

Do you think you could create a video explaining basic uses with this using proxies?

For example: I want to leave a webpage open on multiple VM's in the background out of sight.

Thanks for the resources Tech For All!

I can see multiple comments which seem to struggle on how to implement this.

- If you don't have Hyper V on your machine, you must update your windows home to Windows Pro
- If you see the 'Use PXE over IPv4' message at the startup of your VM, try setting 'Generation 1' rather 2.
- If you have a message saying stm like ISO not being loaded or doesn't meet the requirements, download windows iso 10 rather 11, or crank up the storage space for Windows 11.


Windows 10 will take off about 15gb of your storage.
im not sure about the Windows 11.

Why does it keep saying there is not enough memory when it is a new computer with nothing on it? It has hyper-v pre installed onto a windows 11 pro dell inspirion 24 inch all in one computer.
