I have always wanted to build a Hyper-V core server because you can use it on an unlimited basis for free. I currently run Hyper-V in my lab on top of Windows Server with desktop experience. That is limited to an evaluation period of 180 days. You can run slmgr -rearm up to 5 more times, extending the evaluation period up to three years. But why hassle with that? Let’s make a bootable USB stick to install Windows Server 2019 Hyper-V core server. We will configure a fixed IP address, enable remote desktop, and partition the drive to provide a separate data disk to store the virtual machines.

I have a question... what about the drivers? I mean, how to install the motherboard, chipset, video card and lan drivers in this hyper-v server instalation? its needed for better hardware work and stability, right?

I currently have a Server PC running with Windows server 2019 in my office. All the staffs use thinclients to remotely work on the server. Currently I don't have a failover solution to this and I thought installing Hyper-V core on 2 server PCs and running Windows server 2019 as a virtual machine on the main server PC. On the other server PC using Hyper-V replica I can create a failover VM of Windows server 2019.
I understood the concept of it but not very sure on how to implement it. Also from the networking aspect what will be the requirements.
It would be great if you could guide me with it.
