Fear not that this game is casual, it's extremely tactical and complex. It's been nice to see folks around the office using different strategies to get by the tough battles. I'd rather have the game too hard than too easy.

The character creation UI is absolutely beautiful. It's filled with character and detail. The entire atmosphere feels really charming

The snippets of combat looks strange to me however. Would imo be more pleasant to see your own party in 3D as well

A far cry from Bard's Tale 1 character creation. The line of adventurers at the Adventurers Guild must have been long enough to fill ALL the streets of Skara Brea as many times as we re-rolled, recreated, and 'harvested' characters (for gear and gold)...

As someone who came in from PS2 Bard's Tale (and then bought it again for my Android AND for PC just so I could play it literally anywhere, and even gifted a PC version to a friend), I love all the character in the idle animations, it reminds me of the sass that was in the PS2 version's chatter from the Bard's summoned allies.

I'm doing my best to avoid spoilers, so I haven't looked at the more thorough gameplay except for about 30 seconds of the demo, but just from the introduction rhyme I caught... Something tells me the humor in this will be just as good, so I'll just drop my thanks for the 2004 game here.

The portraits set the gender. So, you just have a set of characters to pick from.

I'm very concerned about performance on this game.. Every video I have seen clearly struggles to even stay at 30fps. Even this video is running around 24 to 25 fps on average. All the gameplay videos you have shown so far also frequently fell below 30fps. I get there is still a lot of optimization to do.. but if you're struggling to keep this game at 30fps on a pc even at this stage of the game, I worry how well it will be optimized at release.

With every update, it looks more and more like a casual mobile game, rather than an actual RPG. Pretty much all my excitement for the game has drained away.

I cant see any connection between any of the first three Bards Tale games and this one....the similarities are entirely superficial and/or engineered(fire horn etc).

4 classes and 4 races, well that's disappointing, seems like this will be a pretty barebones RPG.
