For people doubting or new to the game: I've played it through, and thought it a very interesting and compelling game. The only thing one needs to enjoy it, is to realize it's an indie game and not an AAA game of some big shot studio, so manage your expectations (it's NOT a second Skyrim). But if you don't sweat the small stuff (and with the DC most of it will be fixed anyhow), and love a modern take on an old-school RPG with puzzle-elements in it, and a pretty novel grid-based combat-system, you're bound to have fun.


I found the combat engaging and intricate, the small-talk of the characters endearing and funny, the atmospheric vibe amazing and fairytale-ish, and the Gaelic music wonderful and captivating. The puzzles were about at the right level for me: not too difficult, but not too easy neither (though they get progressively harder). But if you're less puzzle-inclined, it's not a problem, because the DC has a song that let's you bypass most puzzles if you're not fond of that, and it has an extra, large(ly) combat-oriented dungeon as well.



I thought it was a great mix, with a good vibe, and while one can always find some improvements, all in all, it's one of the better indie RPG's I played in years. I would certainly recommend it.

I absolutely love the artbox! :) I love the original version, tho yeah it had a lot of faults, but with these mentioned improvements BT4DC can easily become the best dungeon of the modern times

The fact they are giving to people who own the game for free is a very good sign and I plan on buying this game when I get the money.

I played and completed Bard's Tale 4 at launch but I'm excited to go back at it with the Director's Cut, I think everyone can agree BT4 at launch was pretty shaky, even if I liked it anyway.
Also anticipating to hear about that Wasteland 1 remake, will that be shown off at E3?
