What is meant by the term "Bi-Est?" Why would a woman in menopause want to use the weakest estrogen to treat her symptoms?

Should you take HRT for menopause? If that question feels impossible to answer, I'm here to help. My digital course, The Menopause Solution, guides you through Searches, Stories, and Studies to help you make your HRT decision.

Lack of estrogen was the root cause of all my health issues, and I had to figure that out myself. Not even my gynecologist put the pieces together when I mentioned a visit to the urologist about bladder frequency issues, or the visit to the ophthalmologist who I went to about stabbing pain in my eyes (Note: bladder and eyes were deemed to be in perfect health). None of them thought to themselves, perhaps this is linked to menopause. It's not some new discovery. Even Plato mentioned the change in his writings. So why is it still so mysterious and under studied?? If I were a physician and a woman over 35 came to me with symptoms (I began hot flashing at 39), I would give her the list of 100 menopause symptoms and ask her to identify how many she was experiencing. Then, I would test her hormones, which my gyno didn't do when I insisted on HRT, despite me asking her to - I changed gynos. List of my symptoms: Hair loss, brain fog, eye pain, dry mouth, frozen shoulder, joint pain, bladder urgency, unexplained weight gain around the middle, extreme fatigue, broken sleep, numbness in extremities (not a diabetic - I've been tested), stabbing foot pain for no reason. If any man were experiencing these symptoms all at once, it would be considered a medical emergency. But we women have been suffering for as long as humans have been living beyond 40-years-old. We're told to live with it because it's natural and called "whiny women." Note: the range for "normal" levels in blood work can mislead people into thinking it's not menopause. Go with the symptoms. Once I began HRT, many of these issues completely reversed or improved quite a bit.

Thank you for doing this video on Bi-Est and presenting excellent information. I have been using that in troche form, which also includes Progesterone and Testosterone, with good success for nearly 16 years. I also supplement with an oral DHEA tablet. When I first entered menopause, I was told that the estriol component was protective against breast cancer, and since it is compounded, the dose is individualized to my needs. It has been effective in eliminating my symptoms, and at 70 years old, my bone health is in normal range and my metabolic markers for insulin resistance show I am at very low risk. I do not know why more practitioners do not recommend it, except that I assume the pharmaceutical industry has a big problem with the fact that it is a compounded medication that also contains estriol in the formulation. Incidentally, I originally tried Bi-Est cream when I first entered menopause, but I did not seem to absorb it well, so I switched to a troche and got good results.

watched Steve's estriol video, hit close. struggled with menopause, health was a maze. Aspect Health, a guiding light. understanding hormones, estradiol's impact, crucial. estriol studies intrigued me, especially the breast cancer link. biest concept, an interesting twist. FDA approval gaps, compounding pharmacies step in. safety profile matters, but not universally embraced. Steve's insights, valuable. link to find a qualified provider, appreciated. keep the knowledge flowing! 🌼

A fan here of “hedging one’s bets.” It would be nice to know what minimal but potentially helpful amount of OTC transdermal creams would be. Most of us are just low all the way around. Would guess that safe assumptions can be made, like with vitamins and other supplements. For some reason it all seems to be a big secret.

I started back on HRT at 69 bc I still have hot flashes & never got my
energy back. I never should have stopped bc I was aware of the great
benefits back then.

Been experiencing these miserable symptoms and saw 4 obgyns. Kept giving me meds for UTIs over and over and then I found a doctor who I thought was holistic. She performed all kinds of tests and said I have NO TESTOSTERONE and ESTROGEN so she prescribed Estradiol via vaginal applications but in the cream the box I focused MethaParabens and Propylene Glycol which is what’s in brake fluid and antifreeze and I’m very sensitive to toxins so I asked the doctor to write me a RX for a compound RX without toxins and she got so angry for me “holding her accountable” and long story short of this nightmare experience, she refused to keep seeing me as a a patient and I got connected with an Intergrative doc as a 6th option hoping to get support with these hormone challenges. Anyone have other suggestions to help??

I got my doctor to prescribe Bioidentical hormones for me. Because I had such bad side effects from the synthetic hormones. Hair falling out severe anxiety and insomnia. She doesn't agree with me that the Bioidentical hormones are best but prescribes them for me which I'm thankful! She prescribed BI- EST 50/50 5 mg/ml 4 clicks daily. What estrogens are in this I called compounding pharmacy and they just told me it was made from wild yams. Can you explain this better?

Do they charge hundreds of dollars per consult. Cause it’s already not paid by insurance and it’s very expensive .

Great info! My doctor prescribed a biEst troche…estriol + estradiol + progesterone but I have not found any info. Is this a safe form? I’ve been worried about my elevated liver enzymes and how this form will help or hurt. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
