Estrogen deficiency at menopause causes heart disease, Alzheimer's, and osteoporosis. It's not just about the symptoms of menopause, but the diseases caused by menopause that is at issue. Consider HRT.

You are one of the few social media creators who doesn't fearmonger about the (very few!) ingredients that can make it past the skin barrier. Facts in the face of fear. Thank you for keeping it real, Dr. Andrea 😊

dealing with skin aging due to declining estrogen levels during perimenopause and menopause has been a concern. stumbled upon this video exploring the impact of estrogen on skin health. Aspect Health has guided me through personalized approaches. the discussion on using topical estrogen creams and alternative options like phytoestrogens is informative. understanding the importance of collagen, elastin, and blood vessel formation is crucial. considering these insights for a holistic approach to skincare. always consulting with a doctor is emphasized, ensuring informed decisions about potential health risks. grateful for such content providing clarity on addressing skin aging concerns.

At 69, I started back on HRT 2 wks.ago. I never should have stopped. My
skin was better after menopause than before & that's just what it did for
my skin ! A heart issue has returned that disappeared while on HRT. I
still have hot flashes too, so there was every reason to continue !

I haven't watched youtube for a while, so also haven't seen you in a while. It's insane how much work you still put into your videos, awesome. Thanks

I'm really aggravated that none of my doctors mentioned this when I was going through menopause. Now, several years post menopause I find out why my skin is aging so quickly.

Very worthwhile video because this topic impacts women's quality of life and with aging, more susceptible to problems with skin. This topic goes beyond the trends of wanting simply better looking skin.

Thank you so much for adressing the fact that HRT is not an option for all women. I am 33 years old and went under a full hystorectomy due to estrogen sensitive ovarian cancer, so I cannot take HRT as it is, as you say, absorbed systemically. I really found your video informative in regards to the topical use of estrogen.

I had a radical total hysterectomy before I was perimenopausal due to cervical cancer. At 48, I got topical estrogen. At 51, HRT as my new gyn looked at my risk and bone loss. My skin changed in those years of going from normal estrogen to post-op post-menopausal. Estrogen, if safe for you and risks understood, is amazing for women- skin is fuller, no gyn issues, and I feel like myself again.

I am a big fan of HRT, but the medical community knows little about it and doesn’t care to study it.

This is quite interesting Dr Dray and it's good to know that if we're just using retinoids or retinol and sunscreen that it would be just as beneficial as any estrogen cream. You are such a good teacher and speaker. Makes it really easy to comprehend what you are describing. The detail is great as well and you don't seem to miss a beat. You go girl!😊

I made it through a hellish menopause without estrogen. But of late I’ve looked into an estrogen creams- Both primary care and gynecologist don’t advise it. They say I’ve made it through the bad part, and I’ve made it to the other side as a healthy post menopausal woman. And I’m grateful, I feel great… I’ll live with my aging skin. But sometimes- I look in the mirror….. and I see an old woman!

Be aware estrogen cream on your face can cause melasma. That’s what I experienced, very similar to the “pregnancy mask.” The discoloration hung around even after I discontinued use

Dr. Dray has taught me alot. I appreciate that. In this case, this video probably needs a caveat. If a young woman is asking the questions this could be interesting. If a woman is in various stages of menopause, this info is a bit behind the curve. I'd recommend reaching out to your OBGYN.
