Hi. Just met with my OB GYN yesterday. We went over my lab work from a couple of months ago. I'm 51, Thyroid okay, low progesterone and low estrogen. I wasn't considering taking hormone replacement therapy until I've noticed severe hair loss with the obvious sparse crown and sides of my hair revealing more scalp. It's been pretty dramatic in appearance considering I've always had fine hair but lots of it. It's mainly because of hair loss and not menopausal symptoms. I experienced slight hot flashes last year but not anymore. Hair thinning has been prevalent in this past year. I've been watching your girl talk/medical school/awesome teachings, and I'm glad that you clarified bio identical vs synthetic, and how it's really about how our body reacts vs what we believe one to be better than the other. My doc did give the speech about the risks involved and the risk of the same with the percentage that don't take hormone replacement. It's what you have been saying all along, it's about us and what we ultimately decide is good for us. Menopause isn't such a monster on my internal thermostat, but man, has it done a number on my scalp. Could there be another underlying issue? Please help.... I follow your videos and they are so amazing, informative, and free. I love that you give us free medical information. This is the only time I feel like I am getting free health care for the first time in America, sort of. 😊 I appreciate your selflessness and compassion! You are absolutely Bodacious Barbie! You make the menopausal monster just another beast we can conquer!!! 😆😙🙅

I felt so lost and alone before I found you! I am really struggling through this part of my life. I found you by chance looking up caring for elderly parents in your home, unfortunately 5 years into taking them in and at the beginning of my menopause journey. You've given me hope. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! God Bless <3

You are amazing Dr. Barbie, the more I watch you, the more I learn and feel empowered! I went to a menopause clinic ten years ago when I first became post menopausal. They did the blood work up, and I indeed was given a cream from a compounding pharmacy. I had been without my period for well over the one year mark, and because of the cream started my period again! Ha. I stopped the creams and did my research on herbs, supplements. Still having hot flashes daily, however, am pressing onward. Thanks again!

My hubby and I are watching getting questions together for our consultation. I am on Climara. I am on .025 within 10 minutes he and others were telling me I looked 125 years younger. Though it is A small dose it is powerful. I am also on Compounded Progesterone. I have to pay cash. The Progesterone pill gave me palpitations. The cream doesn't give me palpitations but a little tummy upset. We are enjoying your tutorials! Thanks for the hard work you put into them!

Hello dr taylor!
I recently found your YouTube channel, and I’m loving it.
I still have pretty regular periods, but I’m starting to have perimenopause symptoms. I’m interested In starting HRT. I’m watching your videos “in order, ” so I’m not sure I’ve learned about “cycling progesterone”. My dr said I could get on the estrogen patch, and cycle progesterone, By taking a pill. I didn’t get a clear understanding of what this means, and why I should do it.
I wasn’t super confident w/ her menopause knowledge, and she was so nice to give me a referral to see an OBGYN. I’m 49 yrs old, and want to get started on HRT to make my life easier and healthier.

Also, she said HRT will make me gain weight. Is this true? I thought the opposite would happen.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your sweet and caring heart.

Does estrogen replacement take a women out of menopause to the point that she begins menstruating again or just enough to remove her symptoms but not enough to shed her uterine lining monthly?

I’m 55 yrs old, no insurance so I buy the Estriol Care cream over the counter and use it like 4 days and switch to progesterone cream for about 2 days and it knocks out my hot flashes and keep my vaginal moist. I repeat this remedy until the mild hot flash returns in 3 weeks. This works for me.

Hello!
I just discovered your videos and they are masterful. Luckily, you have a similar philosophy about all things HRT as I do and as my NP does. I can't say enough about your teaching style! Your humor and obvious intellect are very complimentary. Thank you for putting these out there and helping so many folks! I've been combing you videos for a blurb on bio identical estradiol and testosterone pellets. I've just transitioned over to them from Divigel, as I was not finding enough symptom relief from the gel. My first pellet insertion got rid of the sweats and fatigue, and I finally feel great! Do you have a video out on the pellets yet? Or are they addressed in your second edition book? I know the pellets are not FDA approved, and I'd love to hear your thoughts about them. Thank you so much for all that you do. YOU ARE AMAZING

As a post-menopausal woman, I take one milligram of estradiol in pill form (as well as 100 mg of progesterone in the evening). I still don't completely understand if it's bioidentical or not but I don't think. But as mentioned, my insurance won't cover anything fancy.

I had DCIS over twelve years ago so my doctor doesn't even want me taking this daily and is about to refuse prescribing it anymore. I sent him articles detailing the protective abilities of estrogen but that WHI study seems to permeate all discussions.

Its scary because I don't even know if I'm doing the right thing or accidentally increasing my risk of breast cancer. I don't want to stop taking it for fear that the window will close and I won't be able to take it again.

Anyway, I always come back to these videos when I get confused. Thanks.

I confess, I have watched videos out of order, because I’m ready to start feeling better. I have now started watching them in order😁
For me, I would like to do the creams to Bob house liver. My question is will Vagifem travel through my body and give me protection against heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer’s? Will the 10 mcg be a sufficient dose?
You are a blessing Dr. Barbie!!
