You have just had a baby so take time relax. There is no hurry to jump up to exercises and all. So take your time to get out of the labor pains. It is called as labor for a reason that it is very labor intensive. All said and then enjoyed the phase and all those things. So the next question is how soon can you start exercising after normal delivery. Immediately, yes you are capable of doing exercises. Soon after birth in a normal delivery. So you can start exercising. But most of the times we would have given a cut called as episiotomy. So it's better to wait till the healing of the episiotomy is complete which would take 7 to 10 days. So you can start exercising though immediately. But I would advise you to take rest till 10 days . Once the episiotomy wound has healed then you can start exercising in a case of normal delivery. When it comes to cesarean delivery yes though it is said that you can start exercising soon after delivery, maybe after one week or something. But I would advise you to wait for six weeks because in cesarean we would have cut the muscles. Sometimes we would have separated the muscles and all. So give them the enough time to heal once they are healed well then you can go back and then start exercising after the delivery. But I always advise start slow build up the stamina and then you can improve your stamina to workout.
