How to Never Get Dental Cavities (Decay)? – Permanent Solution by Dr. Berg

In this video, Dr. Berg talks about How to never get dental cavities (decay). It's very weird for a child to get decay in a part of their body. How can this be? Enamel is stronger than steel. It happens like this - de-mineralization occurs when the pH of the saliva drops and becomes too acid (4-5.5), when it is supposed to be 7.

Minerals leach out in the presence of acid. This occurs because of excess bacteria making the acid. One step before this is excess sugar in the diet. An average child consumes a ton of sugar and even liquid candy (soda). Get the child off sugar and replace it with alternative sugars like non-GMO xylitol.

Our 22 year old daughter surprised us the other day by thanking Mum for not having soda in the house when she was little. She is very healthy but has noticed her friends with sugar addiction are really struggling with weight and mood problems. Thanks for your advice.

Him admitting that he had a lot of soda as a kid makes him human and an honest one at that. And what is he is now makes him inspirational.

When I was in my early 20’s my dentist said I should have my wisdom teeth extracted because they will cause problems. I did not do it because I didn’t have insurance. Then again at age 35 a different dentist told me I should have my wisdom teeth extracted. I did not do it. I am now 68 years old and I still have my wisdom teeth and I never had any problem with them at all. I have no problems with my teeth.

I think the best advice would be to just cut sugar completely. I know most people don't want to hear that but it makes life so much simpler amd healthier.

So true, myself and my brother were raised in the 1970s, no sugar, only water and milk to drink, a lollipop on a Saturday was our treat, vegetables out of the garden, no crisps, no squash, no desserts, we had a wonderful young life, I dont have sugar now, I'm 52 and have zero cavities, my brother is 53 and zero cavities 👍

I'm a dentist and as soon as I learned about the keto lifestyle I thought of it as a permanent solution for most oral problems including cavities and periodontitis.

When I was 11 my baby teeth didn't fall out they just moved over for my adult teeth. I had to get them pulled because I looked like I had shark mouth. The tip my dentist told me before going under was to swish water through my teeth after every meal. I do it religiously and have never had a cavity. 50 years old!!! Swish after every meal or snack people!! 😀

Imagine if sugar can cause hard tooth enamel to decay... imagine what it is doing to the soft tissues of the body... arteries, etc🤕

I am a brazilian DDS and in college here in Brazil we learn in oral biochemistry class exactly what you have very well and easily acessibly explained in this very short and helpful video for the general population. We learn to prescribe alternatives for sugar and xylitol is a great one because it literaly makes the bacteria "explode" due to its inability to digest the xylitol, so it accumulates and thru osmosis breaks the bacterial cell due to intake of water.
I am a big fan of your great work on informing about health and I endorse your work! Keep it up! Thanks!

Dr Berg is a legend. After years of poring over independent studies, randomised peer reviewed human trials, doing my own trial and error, I've found virtually nobody whose advice is so consistently accurate and effective. Thanks for all your hard work a Dr!

I am 38 years old and every visit to the dentist ended with the treatment of new cavities. I have been on a keto diet for 4 years and I use erythritol instead of sugar. It's a miracle for 2.5 years, I do not have any loss. The teeth became healthier

I was raised on the Mediterranean diet. We rarely ate sweets. Mostly fruit for sweets. Also we took alot of vitamin c. I'm sixty six and never had a cavity. I don't really know if that is my reason for good health, but I'm sharing with you.

True Story: July 2018, my teeth started to ache. I had a check up, and the dentist found multiple cavities. However, I could not afford to get the work done, so I popped ibuprofen to kill the pain. Coincidentally, that same month, I began reducing my sugar (because of Berg's videos) until I barely ate any. The tooth pain lasted for about a month, then one day I realised it was gone. My mouth felt great. In August 2019, I slipped, and ate lots of sugary things for a few weeks. The throbbing pain returned. I was back to ibuprofen. I stopped eating sugar and the pain disappeared within five days. It's now September 24th and my cavities don't hurt. Some day, I'll be able to get my teeth fixed, but until them, I'm keeping the pain away by not eating sugar.

Practicing dentist here. This is a very good, concise presentation of the basic etiology of dental caries.
And to be clear, xylitol is not just another sugar substitute. It is an indigestible (to humans) sugar alcohol that also has bacteriostatic properties, meaning that the cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth are inhibited when they ingest it. At it’s most fundamental level, dental caries is an infectious disease that requires control of bacteria to fully address, and xylitol is one component of this.

Soda is “liquid candy.” Brilliant as usual.

i’ve been using Monk fruit sugar for the last two years and it’s made a huge difference to my teeth sensitivity. it’s a little more expensive but it’s worth it.
