Life After Welding School - Agnes Czopor

This week were going to change it up a bit again. I got to catch up with one of the graduates from South Coast Welding Academy where I am the lead instructor. We talked about her experience there and how it is to transition from school to her real world job! Hope this sheds some light on questions for you guys and girls out there who are learning how to weld!

Personally I don't know if it is a woman in a male world issue. I think any new young person in those kinds of industries feels the same way and gets the same treatment. Everything has to be earned. You havd to prove yourself, man or woman.

I've seen many female welders in my 43 years of welding, and they always seem to be a bit ahead of their male counterparts, especially with the specialty applications. Maybe because females are able to multitask so well.

I am no kind of welder by trade or anything else except as a hobbyist. I, too, love looking out that window and watching the metals melt as I fuse them and control them (or attempt to anyway:))) I commend this lady for her efforts at improving her lot in life and this is one giant step. Brave woman to try this in a "male dominated field". All that said, if I were one hell of a lot younger, I would love nothing better than to attend this school (or any other for that matter). The skills she learned can only be improved through her working life, and in my case, after.

Can you please show us how to cut out the bend test coupons from the pipe after it’s welded? What procedures do we use for preparing the coupons after they are cut from the pipe? I know some inspectors can be strict. Thanks.

Going to weldings schools is the best of my life’s times is the best decision for me in everything’s better me selfs in life’s but dreams bigs my passions weldings pipelines just hards works pays off in everything’s

It doesn't make a difference male female some these new people go to school and get a cert and think oh I know everything about welding. They don't know jackshit about fabrication or layout or fitting up. Then when they told how to correct the problem, they get all butt hurt like they are being picked on. Good luck but there is always something new to learn.
