Man I get upset seeing how some people carry themselves as welders. Over two decades of working with and training people of all walks of life, it always amazes me how badly some new welders miss the mark with work ethic and attitude. Lets have a coffee here today, and truly chat this one out. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below👇

No matter where you work, there is always "One" who does that shit, and I say it again after 35 years experience, there will always be that One person that cant take it, and must be better than everyone else, at all costs.

I love your comment on let your work speak for you. I’ve always told my son “ you don’t need to tell someone how good you are, perform and let everyone else do it for you”.

Absolutely love this!
Attitude/proper mindset are so important....there is nothing worse than the person that "thinks" they know everything. These people have handicapped themselves with the fact they are unable to grow in knowledge...
Also there's a saying I like.."Satisfaction is the Grave of Progress". Never stop learning, never stop trying😃👍🏁

Great advice, people need to hear it. The best thing I was ever told from a boss, you have two ears and one mouth for a reason....use them also hire an attitude and teach a skill

Hi Dusty, I just want to thank you for all the advice you provide on your channel. It has encouraged me to purchase my first TIG machine. The AHP Alpha-TIG 225Xi. I will definitely have your channel open while I figure out how to TIG weld

You're advice crosses over so many industries other than welding... and very well put!!! Thanks for the awesome advise! I am a 50 year old in my first year apprenticeship for maintenance. I am a hobby welder and that was one of my first community collelege classes. I am thinking about taking more on my own along with the required classes.😊

Great advice bro. By the way I mostly drink my coffee black, but sometimes I put a little bit of half-and-half or heavy whipping cream and a little maple syrup in it.

Wow. Amazing words of wisdom. I think this can span across many more trades than just welding. Love your positive attitude man.

WOW. No truer words have been spoken as far as being a good employee and coworker. be a good listener and who knows you might learn something yourself. share your knowledge willingly, and you become a good person. having recently retired after over 40 years in a trade, I believe I have worked with many of the same type of people you have described. some good, some bad, but always something to be learned from all to develop myself. Thank you for this video. I will be sharing it with some people close to me.

Hi Dusty
Well you said it well.
I was in the motor vehicle and truck smash repair industry for about 50 years now retired.
Yes I have worked with absolute know alls.
In the first year of my apprenticeship a old tradesman told me never become cocky or know all because you will always come unstuck and make a fool of yourself. I saw this quite a few times.
I just went about my work.
Later years when young apprentices came to me for advice I would show them or tell them how to go about it but if they found a different way than how I told them great, I wouldn’t get the shits.
When I was an apprentice one tradesman would get the shits if I did it a different way than what he told me to do, I was not being a smart ass.
In my years in the trade, I always had said to apprentices that have asked for my advice, if you think of a different way of doing it then go for it I will not be angry.
I have always been a quiet achiever not a big mouth.
My father was the same, he was in the air craft machine and engineering during the Second World War.
Now I have a tig welder a unimig Razor 200 tig welder I watch all your videos GREAT Also do some lathe work to.

An old school dude tought me this when I was a kid sponge trying to absorb as much knowledge as I could .. a closed mouth n open ears learns way more than a running mouth u have to go catch .... its a metaphor and I fully followed it my whole life, and knowledge is power imo so I will gladly let anyone teach me something u don't know even if they younger or older as age does not mean experience but also common sense is not so common any more brotha .. but I have to say I love your channel and knowledge u drop brotha peace and love brotha keep it rad stay safe and build on and plz continue to teach my brotha cuz u seam to have the right head on u shoulder to teach and explain to were someone can actually understand and learn and then try themselves as practice practice make perdy nicles quarters and dimes 😅... lol peace ✌

Video isn’t even out yet and I can tell you’ll be preaching SO much truth, just by the “Lose the Attitude”. I’m in welding school now and so many guys are just way too cocky

Funny enough, all of this advice is relevant for most work places
