I’m not Asian and didn’t grow up using chopsticks, so when it occurred to me that I could use them to avoid getting messy fingers when I ate Cheetos/Doritos/wasabi almonds/powdery snacks I felt like an absolute GENIUS.

(Yes I appreciate that it’s obvious if you grew up with it but you have to gain a certain level of competence with them before that works. And the part of the US I’m from when I was a kid the Asian American communities were mostly from parts of South East Asia that only use chopsticks for noodle soups, not dry foods, so there wasn’t even anyone to pick it up from.)
