Granny worked hard to wisely use Big Grandpa's sparse pay to obtain meat, fish, and eggs. She wasn't beyond sending her son out hunting for breakfast, and my mom and her sisters all were thrilled to find turkey, goose and duck eggs. Grandpa didn't care if he had to eat pork, but oleomargerine was forbidden. But really, if you keep a couple pigs, you're getting lard, bacon, and plenty of chops and ribs to sell for the winter. Real food is what our bodies crave. No need to count or weigh if you have real food on the table. I love kippers! And finnan haddie. Both with goats' cream sauce.

Very nice explanations. I follow Dr. Paul Mason as well and between you two lots of very good info. Omega 6/3 ratios comes up a lot with poor metabolic health.

Does anyone remember when "canola oil" was touted as the new, healthy oil, about 20-25 yrs ago? I remember thinking; what's a canola? Is it a plant/tree/animal?? Had no idea- until today- that it was an acronym for Canadian Oil Company, good grief! No wonder I could never track down the canola creature- it never existed!

I've been aware for some time that the olive oil industry is very corrupt. They say something like 75% of olive oil is actually something else. I've been buying fish in olive oil but I just thought that probably holds true for the canned sardines packed in olive oil. You know they're probably trying to get out as cheaply as possible and they're not buying good quality 100%. Seems like there's always a catch.

It seems to me Americans don't really eat much fish. Maybe it goes back to all our farm subsidies in this country. I love salmon and after 3 years of Keto my cholesterol ratio was great due to the fact I eat salmon 2 or 3 times a week 😋

Whatever I research fat they talk about omega-3 and omega-6, But I believe there are nine omega categories of fat, what are the other ones do?

At time 1:25 you got right side and left side backwards, for us omega6 is on the left and omega3 is on the right; at 3:53 linoleic Acid (is on our left)

I keep coming across this vegan ad on Facebook saying that fish actually doesn’t have omega3 but it’s the seaweed they are eating that actually produces the omega-3. So they are selling that seaweed oil instead. What do you think about that? I really don’t like the smell of fish, or the heavy metals in them but again seaweed is coming from the same place 🤷‍♀️

I have serum omega-3 and omega-6 data in mmol/l. How do i calculate the rations? BY mmol? Or do i have to convert to mg/dl ? Is there a link to research paper with all the ratios and how they calculated them.
