That's great Alex, thanks. I'd never had a problem with my dumbbell deadlifts until very recently when they started giving me lower back pain. I think it's a combination of both of the points you made.

I was getting lower back pain after dumbbell deadlifts, but after watching this put another set of hex dumbbells on the ground outside of each of my feet, and only lower the dumbbells in my hands until they touch the two on the ground. No back pain. Thanks!

Thank you for walking me through that! I injured myself and was in extreme pain for 8 days after doing what I thought was a simple exercise. Nope! For deadlifts - FORM is critical!

Very well explained. No wonder my lower back hurts when doing dumbbells but barbell it doesn't hurt.

Great tip on using dumbbells on of my problems was low back soreness because of bar in front....this way you can get in right position from the start( shoulders back)!!!
