IIHS and Consumer Reports have released an updated list of recommended used models for teen drivers. All 58 recommended models earn good ratings in the IIHS original moderate overlap, original side, head restraint, and roof strength tests. They also earn acceptable or good ratings in the driver-side small overlap crash test.

The recommended models, which range in price from $5,800 to $20,000 (as priced by Kelley Blue Book) also score well in emergency handling and dry braking tests from Consumer Reports and earn strong marks for reliability.

Nothing beats proper parenting. If your teenager goes 100 MPH and hits a tree, no car is gonna save your child.

The IIHS needs to do more pedestrian safety ratings, and start restricting hood height on vehicles to actually save our youth’s lives.

The top thing parents can do to keep their teen drivers safe is *_enforce a strict no-teen-passengers rule._*

The prices in the list are so out of touch with reality that it makes me angry. Add 5k to the price of each vehicle in the recommended vehicles for teens list and then you get the real 2024 prices.

Is it a coincidence that most crashed cars in this “educative short” are mostly japanese/korean cars?
