As a former Deputy Coroner, I would never ride a motorcycle period. Most of the accidents werent even the motorcyclist's fault.

As an ER nurse, I would teach my kids to respect dogs (even their own) and never let a child put their face up to a dog’s face.

My dad is a retired cop, and firefighter and my mom is a long time nurse and recently the deputy coroner, i’ve been warned about things like this my whole life.

That motorcycle one hit home. My brother-in-law got thrown from his bike last year, bounced off a semi truck, and hit the ground head first. We was obsessed with gear so he had the absolute best helmet money could buy. We joked a little bit about how his helmet must cost more than the bike did. After the accident, there was a massive dent in the helmet but no dent in his head. Only reason he survived the ordeal. Apparently he knew what he was doing when we bought that helmet.

Edit: several people have asked but I don’t know the name of brand of the helmet. I just know it was expensive.

The "feet on the dash" brought back a memory from maybe fifteen years ago, the girls legs were broken at the knee.I mean BONES sticking out 😮 it was horrifying to witness and to this day I wonder how she is.

My mom was an RN and literally worked in every unit. When she worked at the neck, head, and spinal unit, we weren't allowed to jump on trampolines or have skateboards. When she worked Oncology, she lectured us about melanoma and using sunscreen. For the majority of my teen years she worked in the AIDS clinic. Every single dinner conversation was about safe sex even when we had company 😂

I am not an ED nurse, but I would not walk around naked holding objects conveniently shaped for "accidental entry." 😂

As someone who has had a lot of contact with ED nurses due to a wonky heart, I would NEVER forget to say Thank You for ALL that you do!!! <><

As a nurse for 32 years be honest with the your health care professionals even if it might be embarrassing. It might just save you life. The staff are not there to judge you but to help you.

As a retired rehab nurse, I would never let anyone dive into a body of water that was shallow or the bottom wasn’t visible.

My friend is an ED nurse, and the most common thing she sees are elderly people falling and complications of obesity. So stay healthy and take fall-prevention measures if you’re older

I would never ride in a car with my head or limbs outside a car window. I would never stand on the top step of a ladder. I would never disengage safety switch under the lawnmower seat. If you take the weight off the seat the mower blades stop turning. Never try to jump back on your tractor if it starts to roll. Let it roll-I would rather fix my Kubota than fix myself! Never try to jump back in your truck if it starts rolling also. I am not an ED Nurse. I am a senior woman farmer who has a lot of experience doing stupid stuff during my life. Like “Hey, Ya’ll watch this” stuff!

Always talk to your new babies while in the car as this can remind you to get them out of the car when you get out.

As a nurse I cannot impress upon people enough to have a living will, a DNR and most importantly a designated person who will follow your final wishes of you can't speak for yourself.

When my brother-in-law needed a heart transplant, he got on the list in December. The doctors told him motorcycle seasons is right around the corner, we’ll have a heart for you in no time and that is exactly what happened. He got a heart transplant from a motorcycle crash victim… it was sad that that’s what the doctor had to say and then that way that he said it I don’t think he realized how horrible it was, but he was right. My husband sold his motorcycle right after the doctor told him that.

I’ll never want to stop learning if I’m 120. I learn things from little children, teenagers, and adults, all the way to the elderly. And if someone alerts me to some information that I didn’t know, about, I’m grateful, and happy to hear. it. I care about people, and information to help a person, charges my energy. So when I alert a nurse to something, that will be a benefit to her helping people I expect her to take it the same way, and not to be offended by it.
