A backpack is enough if you don't have a vest. Always wrap the discs in a towel so that they don't slip in the backpack.

Kensui has a vest that can be loaded with plates, so far the reviews seem positive and they seem very open to feedback to perfect the product.

People who comment that a weighted vest should do the work havent been in the gym for a long time

A weighted vest can be a hassle because:

- U have to carry your vest all the way to the gym
- it puts stress on your shoulders/traps also during rest periods
- its limited because the weight vest are max 20kg

20kg is nothing. After some months u will outgrow and need more weight

Personally I just find the stronger I get the slower I need to go to make pushups effective

I use a weighted vest and after several months I just did my first handstand wall push. The first time I tried it felt impossible. But you just have to get to where to can press about 90% of your body weight. Just keep reping pike pushups and weighted decline/pike push ups and you’ll get there soon.

For reference. Im 156lbs and I decline rep 36lbs in my vest 6-7 times rn depending on form.

I've seen a vid in which a man broke his fingers because he loaded his pushups like the start of the video

Heavy chains around the neck or across the torso also works. If you already happen to have those heavy chains for other stuff. They're a bit expensive if it's just for pushups.

One thing I still haven't figured out is: do rotator cuff muscles get stronger with the usual exercises, or do they absolutely need to be trained separately to keep up with the rest?
There's only so much time we can divide between exercises.

saying push ups is a beginner exercise is wild, if you can push up your 5yo girl friend then you can do a one arm push ups stay strong diddy

I use a heavy duty backpack. Bit of a pain to set up when you want to do a 5 rep max, but 12+ reps isn't that big of a hassle

I weigh 155 and do 70 pound push ups without a problem. I can easily balance the plates on my back, the only issue is getting a 25 on the 45 so I ask for help to put the 25 on from someone.

I use a 50lb sack of sand inside a backpack.. works great. Love the pump when doing these on a decline deficit

If you have spare straps for rings, you could fasten them to the belt and cross them over your traps He-man style. That would (in theory) stop it slipping down

Actually… back-supported, seated overhead press, which u call the manliest movement, also interferes with the scapula………..
