I always just assumed he didn't want anyone to know he was a Jedi, the basic answer. Didn't realize it was a little more complicated than that haha. Thanks for the video. I remember those comics that were wedged in between the mainline Star Wars comics. It was called "The Journal of Obi Wan Kenobi" I think. My memory is bad. So these videos are good refreshers.

Not only kenobi wanted to avoid detection on tattooine but he still living in sorrow for cutting down his former apprentice on Mustafar with his (kenobi) own lightsaber

Not sure why people can’t accept Windu defeated Palps. George Lucas stated it already, it’s canon. Palpatine was exceptional in the force, but he couldn’t beat Mace nor Yoda.

On your last point about mace, I don't think he thought he was the chosen one. I do however believe he was expecting someone far more jedi-like than anakin. The chosen one would be someone in his mind that thinks through every decision and makes the most accurate and precise decisions.

Well the basic answer is that he went to exile and all that stuff, but if we are talking about the need of defending himself here, then he didn't really need a lightsaber to defend himself, in the comics (canon) he became the bodyguard of a Jawa clan, and the Jawa clan wasn't getting attacked anymore ever since Kenobi became their bodyguard.

I feel like there will be scenes in the kenobi show of him having nightmares about his duel with Anakin, order 66, the hologram of Anakin killing younglings, and any other trauma he has had to deal with in the past. Maybe similar to Boba Fett getting flashbacks about his father dying. I think this would be a cool way to show us how much stress he really has to deal with.

He was trying to keep a low profile, I think. The time he was in was the most dangerous because of The Empire. His life, Luke's and his families life were at risk so Obi Wan couldn't take any chances. He was smart.

I'm very anxious to see the Kenobi series because he was one of my favorite characters of the SWU.
Secondly, I'm excited because of the hype attached to it & I loved the way Ewan Mc Gregor portrayed Kenobi. It was as if the late great Sir Alec Guinness was raised from the afterlife every time I saw Ewan Mc Gregor on screen.
Also seeing Hayden Christensen together with Ewan(Mc Gregor) is such a joy & has been a long time coming. In my opinion, there was such chemistry between them; it's hard to imagine one without the other.
If the info I've heard is correct, there was some mention of sword play between Vader & Kenobi after their fight on Mustafar which I hope, wouldn't flatter to deceive.
On a side note, I'd like to see something done on Mace Windu who I think was such an intriguing character. Windu was overflowing with such arrogance, that one didn't need to be a rocket scientist to be able to pick up on it.

I have a feeling we won't see kenobi use his lightsaber until a climatic fight in the final episode. I mean he's probably going to use a lightsaber. The promo artists wouldn't have put one in his hand if he wasn't going to use it.

Remember Obi-Wan did take out and use his lightsaber in the Mos Eisley bar when those two criminals were harrasing Luke.

Why did he use his lightsaber in episode 4 when he cut off that guy's arm harassing Luke ? And why didn't anyone say anything about him being a Jedi ?
