Alright quick tip, when you’re doing rope tricep pushdowns, don’t grab onto the top of the rope, cuz this causes you to use more of your chest and shoulders, since you’re leaning over the rope to push the weight straight down. Instead, grab onto the bottom of the rope, then retract your scapula by rolling your shoulders back and think of pulling the weight out behind you rather than pushing it forward.

When you grab onto the top of the rope, you allow your shoulders to internally rotate, and pressing straight down with a grip that’s way too close at the bottom will start to work your lower chest. So for more tricep isolation, roll your shoulders back and puff out your chest, and think of pulling the weight out behind you rather than pushing it forward for slight shoulder extension at the bottom and a full contraction of the tricep.

It only uses more of your chest shoulders if your scapula isnt protacted. The lower you grab it the more you can pull your wrists apart and put more tension on your lateral head. The shorter you grab it, the closer your wrists will be to eachother. That creates more tension on your medial and long head.

elbows out front, extend your arms, all triceps. arms in close, elbows tucked less activation. Put your hands wherever you want. high or low doesnt matter.
