Sometimes when I'm feeling rich, I fill my truck all the way up.

The closest I’ve come to flying private was when the wheel on the pick up in front of me came off and sent my scion into the air. Those 3 seconds were so awesome.

“I would’ve picked a different color…” as I eat my 7th ramen noodle bowl this week and hope my neighbor doesn’t figure out I’m stealing his WiFi.

The lowest model for this jet costs $2.3million, for that same amount of money a person could fly first class from NY to LA 1243 times (average estimated ticket price of $1800 based on current pricing)

For context he filled the jets tank with 300 gallons of JetA fuel which currently costs $6.49/gallon. So his fuel cost is $1950 to go 1000 miles. (NY to LA Is roughly 2000 miles btw)

To justify the jet and my rough cost of operation this family of 7 would have to travel 178, 659miles or roughly 7 full rotations around the globe.
To be clear this estimation doesn't include maintenance/repairs, retraining or retrofits that may be required by the FAA over the decades a person would have to fly it to justify the cost.
It also assumes the plane has every seat filled every time it flys.
Even if none of that matters to you it's worth mentioning that flying first class would be NICER! a 737 is quieter, faster, doesn't need to stop to be refueled every 1000 miles. It also has a flight crew, it's safer, and is dramatically better for the environment.

Also at an average cost of $12, 000/trip (NY to LA just for consistency) a person could charter a private jet like a Cessna Citation CJ3 which seats 7-12 passengers about 192 times just to reach the price of the jet in this video.

Even if a person sells it after cercomnavigating the globe 7times and recoops.... Lets say half the money they paid this is not a great purchase.

If the jet was free 95% of family men couldn’t afford the airport storage fees.

Nice to have that freedom. I’ve flown private a couple times on business and it’s like you own the world. City to city. In and out like nobody’s business.

My 2004 Toyota Corolla comes with a spare tire.
I travel 60 miles an hour at about 1 1/2 feet of the ground.
It cruises from my home to the camp site and, hopefully, it makes the return trip.
No parachute.

The Emergency Autopilot System by Garmin on the Cirrus Vision jet is so impressive. One press of a button, if the pilot becomes incapacitated, it will fly and land itself at the take off location or the closest airport in fuel range. So cool.
